sounds like a pet name.

nevergoogle · 11/12/2010 21:04

no

mylifewithmangers · 11/12/2010 21:04

Sounds like a nickname for Keziah

busybusybumblebee · 11/12/2010 21:07

Think it'd be for Kerensa - it's not for me. So go wild! :)

Usually short for Keziah?

RockLovesMincePies · 11/12/2010 21:14

There is a Kizzie at my dd's school, although I have no idea what it's short for.

I do however, have to point out that dd's school is mainly populated with the offspring of hippies and "alternative" lifestylers (myself not included lol).

onimolap · 11/12/2010 21:14

I think it sounds lovely, but agree it sounds like a nn.

As well as the suggestions above, could it be a contraction of Christine/Christina/Christiana or Katherine?

in fact am starting to wish I was called it

KenDoddsDadsDogEatsTinsel · 11/12/2010 21:41

Is it not the name of one of the characters in Sugar Rush?

fulltimeworkingmum · 11/12/2010 21:43

I have known several pets with the name Kizzie, including a dog, a cat and a goat. I've never met a human with that name though.....

MoonUnitAlpha · 11/12/2010 21:46

I like it as a nickname for Keziah, ridiculous as a name in its own right though.

BikeRunSki · 11/12/2010 21:52

I have met one adult - in her 80s - called Kizzy, I think short for Kirsten - and it didn't seem like a Proper Name.

It suited my grandfather's cat though Smile!

It was also the name of the lead character of a 1970s children's book called "The Diddacoi" by Rumer Godden. About a gypsy girl trying to fit into mainstream life. In this case it was Kizzy short for Keziah. I think it might be Cornish.

Mistymoo · 11/12/2010 21:53

MIL cat was called Kizzie so to me it is a cat's name.

BarbieLovesKen · 11/12/2010 21:53

No, no, no. Your not serious are you??

AuraofDora · 11/12/2010 21:54

juneybean · 11/12/2010 21:54

Kizzy on Sugar Rush is "Kim"

PuraVida · 11/12/2010 22:00

It's a traditional gypsy name i think. I have friend from a travelling background called kizzy. And i Loved the book the didakoi (sp?)when I was little, about a gypsy girl called Kizzy

PuraVida · 11/12/2010 22:04

sharbie · 11/12/2010 22:07

I remember that book and it will always be a gypsy name to me.

BikeRunSki · 11/12/2010 22:31

PuraVida I can only spell better than you because I just Googled the book!

ChippingIn · 11/12/2010 22:33

For a dog.

MelinaM · 11/12/2010 23:34

^My sentiments exactlyGrin ...sorry but it's truly awful! It sounds very much like a nn...and not a good one! x

BluTac · 11/12/2010 23:35

It's a bit daft

piprabbit · 11/12/2010 23:40

The only Kizzy I've heard of is the one on the BBC documentaries that followed Kizzy through her pregnancy and being a mum at 14 yo.

Why are we discussing the name BTW, if it's not for you?
