Picked out the name Xavier when doc said we were having little boy. Got all excited. Went to new doc yesterday, he had a look and said 'err, you're having a girl' :O
DH thinks we can use Xavier as girls name .

So, thinking about Eva? Or Gabriella? Really like Mia but DH hates it :( Anyone got any names I can steal? Haha.

Congratulations!

How about Xanthe?

Acanthus · 10/12/2010 19:30

Xanthe lovely but only if you wouldn't use Xavier if you had a boy in future.

AllieW · 10/12/2010 19:32

I'd have suggested Xanthe too!

Coralie is pretty.

ShoppingDays · 10/12/2010 19:36

what about maia - nicer than mia i think.
and no, you can't use xavier for a girl imo. though i suppose it depends how you're going to pronounce it.

xaviera is apparently the spanish feminine of xaveir but i've never heard it IRL.

lisad123isasnuttyasaboxoffrogs · 10/12/2010 19:41

my cousin is called xanphia

onimolap · 10/12/2010 19:47

The feminine of Xavier is Xaviera, but the only one I know of in RL is the Happy Hooker.

Some ideas based on the other names you mentioned: Rafaella, Michaela, Beatrix, Cosima, Amelia, Evadne.

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 19:59

Oh no! dont use Xavier for a girl!!!

My 2 names for a girl (that I cant decide on) are Gabriella and Kate so Gabriella definately gets my vote. Think its stunning. Do you mind nn Gaby though?

mathanxiety · 10/12/2010 20:18

No, you really can't use Xavier for a girl.

There's Xenia?

Eva is beautiful.

RememberToPlaywiththeKids · 10/12/2010 21:55

Gabriella is beautiful.

DuelingFanio · 11/12/2010 00:21

Zaila

mathanxiety · 11/12/2010 03:18

Zara?

Zinaida
Zelie
Keziah
Zuleika
Zoe
Alexa
(I love Cosima)

jumpyjack · 11/12/2010 05:45

Alethea? Similar feel to Xanthe, but would still allow you to use Xavier for a future DS. And Thea is a great nickname.

Secretwishescometrue · 11/12/2010 11:48

Gabriella gets my vote, Eva and Mia are really beautiful but really really popular so she could be one of many in her class iykwim and iv been there tis very annoying being refereed to as your full name all through school... Love some of the other suggestions here though and my one is.... Farrah

SoupDragon · 11/12/2010 11:50

From the ones you mention, Gabriella.

euracantha · 11/12/2010 17:10

My friends just called hers Alexia,if you like Lexi as a nn

CheerfulYank · 11/12/2010 20:22

I know a little girl called Xavia (ZAY-vee-uh), but tbh it always reminds me of labia.

Gabriella is pretty :)

Takver · 11/12/2010 21:09

I know a Zena (short for Alzena), pretty and similar-ish to Xavier.

babynoah · 12/12/2010 17:16

Thanks AllieW- Coralie is my name in RL, I love it, always a convo starter. never got mocked at school.

Lexi is sweet aswell. If you name her Alexa and shorten it to Lexi then she has options when she's older. Lexi doesn't sound professional, but is too proper for a little princess.

Gabriella is nice- but is very High School Musical

Firawla · 12/12/2010 19:07

I actually think Xaviera would be nice, it is so pretty and probably noone else will have that name
Gabriella is nice too and also love Rafaella which someone else suggested, I think they are all in the same kind of style

Dexterrocks · 12/12/2010 19:09

I love Gabriella - love, love, love it!

BelligerentGhoul · 12/12/2010 19:12

Xaviera is not nice, imho.

Gabriella is pretty.

Genevieve? Sp? Marianne? Yolande?

BelligerentGhoul · 12/12/2010 19:12

Sp isn't a name suggestion btw - just had a blip as to how to spell Genevieve - sp? :)
