For a girl. Too old fashioned or just right?
I love it but DP is unmoved. What do you think?

Not overly keen - I associate it with cows. However, I thought that about Daisy and that got remarkably popular, so who knows?

fibernachi · 10/12/2010 13:11

Great name

JosieRosie · 10/12/2010 13:15

I like it :)

Valinor · 10/12/2010 13:19

I'm with your dh I'm afraid. When I look at the name written down I automatically think turtle which puts me off.

Sorry x

tummytickler · 10/12/2010 13:35

I think it is lovely.

mopsyflopsy · 10/12/2010 13:38

Try pronouncing Myrtle in any language other than English (and even in English for some Smile) - very difficult!

MarniesMummy · 10/12/2010 13:43

Mmmm! I hear you. I'm just so sad as I think it's such a lovely name. Guess I was testing the water prior to trying to convince DP.

She'll be called Moaning Myrtle (from the Harry Potter books)

MaryBS · 10/12/2010 13:58

I thought Moaning Myrtle from HP too. Definitely not in favour, sorry!

mistletoeploppy · 10/12/2010 13:59

My friend has a pug called Myrtle; I still quite like the name though Grin

MarniesMummy · 10/12/2010 14:02

Of course she will.
I'd forgotten about her.

I'm leaving the name Myrtle behind now...

imahappycamper · 10/12/2010 17:27

I was at school with a Myrtle who started using her second name as soon as she possibly could.

maktaitai · 10/12/2010 17:30

Miranda

Rosemary
Rowan

Any of these appealing? [desperate]

Rhubarbgarden · 10/12/2010 18:34

I love Myrtle. I started a thread on it quite recently. Everyone said turtle Sad

RockinRobinBird · 10/12/2010 18:37

Absolutely bloody hideous.

DilysPrice · 10/12/2010 18:39

I'd expect people to still be reading/watching Harry Potter in ten/twenty years time, so that'll be a no.

BarbieLovesKen · 10/12/2010 22:11

Im really sorry but I cannot possibly think of a more awful or horrible name. Really terrible.

MelinaM · 10/12/2010 22:12
