Friend is due with DS soon and is considering. I think possibly not a good choice.

I think I'll mention the small and sensitive possibility. And personally I can imagine other kids picking fights over it, further down the line. (but I won't say that).

oh dear - poor child! The second it behaves badly - and let's face it they all will eventually - the poor thing will be dubbed the "Little Brute" and that will be it. Why doesn't she just cut to the chase and call it Thug or Bully?

Really not keen at all. Sounds very harsh. Perhaps she might prefer Bruce (not that I'm keen on that either, but it's a great deal more pleasant than Brutus!).

We have a bruiser of a cat round our way called Brutus. Aptly named. He terrorises our cats.
