Sibling name that goes with Christian?

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 19:47

Please give suggestions for a sibing name to go with Christian and Isabella. We don't want trendy, and chose Isabella before it became massively popular - so not too 'common' popular would be good. We liked the Scandinavian association with Christian, as DH works/ed there a lot. Unisex names are def out, or anything that's very biblical eg Isaiah, Elijah etc - as it's too much with Christian IYSWIM. As are any names ending in ella.

3+ syllables works with our surname, - and our sibling names. Big thank-you for any help.

Buddhist?

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 19:52

No thanks - and Mohammed is out, also Hindi/Hindira etc.

TrailMix nn hints at a well travelled/broad perspective ahem....

Love both Christian and Isabella.

Benedict / William / Timothy / Bartholomew / Barnaby

Hermione / Beatrice / Vivienne / Violet

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 19:58

Loving your suggestiong Belligerent. Particularly Benedict, Barnaby and Hermione. Got a feeling this one is a girl.

Can't use Beatrice - though really like it. Not sure about Vi as a nn.

On the right track though.

No, Vi is awful.

Glad you like the suggestions!

Another boys' name I love is Thaddeus - but I think that might be a bit much for you!

Georgimama · 06/12/2010 20:05

My brothers are called Christian and Edward.

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 20:09

Actually I really like it. DH has a 'thing' about any name he thinks is too posh (Theo, Thaddeus and Barbaby are on it). Though this is beyond me!

OP posts:
BelligerentGhoul · 06/12/2010 20:10

I didn't think it was posh - just cute!

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 20:11

On DH's 'too posh' list, I mean (Ah pregnancy)

I agree, it's not. I think we are all choosing from a broader mix of names now. Just wish DH would catch up.

I would have been Christian if I had been a boy! I got a scandi name though!

How about
Elin
Ingrid
Catriona
Matilda

Sebastian
Tobias
Mathias

smokinaces · 06/12/2010 20:23

Rosaline
Eloise
Rebecca
Amelia/Amelie
Katherine
Melissa

Benjamin
Timothy

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 20:26

Now you're talking Ken. I think a scandi name would work (Though I should probably keep away from any more Danish royal family - there's are younger than mine. Honest).

Georgimama like Edward - but got a Bella. For same reason ruled out Jasper...

Love Tobias and Mathias.

I like this thread. :)

Georgimama · 06/12/2010 21:15

Oh yes, didn't think of that! I love the name Edward and curse my mother for beating me to it.

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 21:34

Elouise is gorgeous - why doesn't DH like it? (Something about a 'The Damned' song?? Anyone? He says it's too gothic. Is it just me who has an impossible to please DH?)

Anyway rant over - always liked Melissa and Amelie

I did like Juliet but I've read it dozens of times on this forum in the last fortnight. Do you think it will be v v popular?

OP posts:
BelligerentGhoul · 06/12/2010 21:37

I wanted Eloise for dd1 but dp wouldn't have it.

Naomi / Meredith / Georgiana

BelligerentGhoul · 06/12/2010 21:37

Love Melissa too.

Northernrose · 06/12/2010 21:52

Alexander
Theodore
Mathais
Sebastian

Florence
Eloise/Elouise
Elizabeth/Elisabet
Francesca
Freya
Dorothea (nn Thea)

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 21:52

There are no Naomi's at DC1 and 2 v large school. Good choice. Will put it on list for his royal DHness to consider. Georgiana is different too. But will she be a George for short?? Um not sure about that.

MuffinMouse · 06/12/2010 21:55

Northernrose - Alexander is def on list. Wish I could put Elouise on it too (see earlier). Love Freya. Francesca works with C and I but don't like Fran.

Bue · 07/12/2010 11:15

You could just wait to find out what the crown prince and princess of Denmark call their twins - their first two children have the same names as yours! :)

MuffinMouse · 07/12/2010 12:27

Sorry poobum being a bit dense here - Fletcher??

Bue I know - Blush. Their kids are a couple of years younger than mine (honest).
