What do you think of Caleb?
I love love Shem, but dh has gone off it - although I might be able to win him 'round.
So Caleb is kind of a compromise. I do sort of like it, it is really sweet, but feels a bit popular next to our other dc's names.
Dh likes Abraham, Solomon, Leonard and Lionel!
I already know several Solomons so that is out.
I am not sure about the rest.
Caleb is the only one at the moment we both like, but neither of us love it. What do you think?

I love, love, love Caleb!! It was my favourite boys name when I was pregnant on dd. Just as well it was a girl because dh hated the name and I would have been inconsolable :)

yeah Caleb is lovely! Smile

I'm not too keen, sorry. Love a number of other Biblical names though.

Prefer both Abraham & Solomon. Shem sounds very Jewish (of course they all are but the others are more widely used).

Jewish is good - I already have Eli and Amos, so fits perfectly!
Has occured to me that some chap in the band Kings of Leon is called Caleb, so I will swerve it for that reason - I have visions of it becoming super popular, and silly as it is, that would put me off!

How about Saul, Nathan, Benjamin, Zachary, Gabriel, Jordan, Moses, Reuben, Seth, Jonah, Ezekiel (Zeke)?

I love it!!

(Slightly biased) mum to Caleb, age 8

Love Caleb, and from Shopping's excellent list above, I particularly like Gabriel and Reuben (which was our first choice if dd had been a boy). Not at all keen on Leonard and Lionel. Abraham OK, like Abe as a nn. Honestly don't think that Caleb will become overused just as a result of Kings of Leon, though, so I wouldn't worry.
