We've pretty much decided on this as a girls name, can anyone think of any dodgy connotations for it?

Can't think of any negatives. Is quite nicknameable, but for me that would be a plus.

I really like this, and would shortlist if we go for DC3. Probably Sera for short.

It's lovely, it's the name of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner dd2 but don't think that's particular negative.

My name is not very common, and after doing some research I now know why. My parents didn't have access to the internet all those years ago and just thought it was a nice name.

I'm not saying that it does have any dodgy connotations BTW.

I prefer Serafima which is an ancient Slavic name of Greek origin (short form: Fima)... Never heard of Seraphina, but sounds ok.

not keen. bit ecclesiastical and despite the fact that it will start out being different, it will be Sara eventually. I'd bet.

My 6 year old is Seraphina Elizabeth, so obviously I love the name. She is often called Sephy.
