Love Harriet! First thought Harriet Louise/a but too obvious! I'll have a think!

typsical · 27/11/2010 09:45

Harriet Matilda
Harriet Louisa (better than Louise I think)
Harriet Sophia/Sofia/Sophie
Harriet Elizabeth
Harriet Olivia (again a bit obv!)
Harriet Freya
Harriet Mabel

Harriet Emily
Harriet Annabel
Harriet Ophelia
Harriet Imogen
Harriet Isobel

Think maybe the middle name should start with a vowel..?

CheerfulYank · 27/11/2010 09:55

What is your surname like?

frakkinup · 27/11/2010 12:33

Agree you need to be careful with surname and potential initials. Also bear in mind if she gets married she might change her surname so you don't want her to suddenly become HOG for example. Or worse HUN Grin

Do you have any family names you like?

Harriet is lovely and versatile - would go with most things.

RockinRobinBird · 27/11/2010 12:34

My one's middle name is Caroline.

turningvioletviolet · 27/11/2010 12:58

My H's middle name is Kate (after my sister) - works well with the one short syllable after the 3 syllable Harriet.

Ooh thanks for your feedback everyone - Harriet Emily is very cute. So love the name Harriet and have finally convinced the hubby! We're not finding out the sex though so may not get to use it.

DDs is Harriet Jane. You have to have a 1 syllable name I agree or it all gets a bit fluffy.

Harriet is an uber cool name I think.

my dd2 is Hattie Alice (Alice is after her paternal great grandmother so not a name I would have chosen but DD1 has a female version of my Dads name as middle name so had to give in on using H nan's name)

Harriet Felicity
Harriet Ivy

Harriet Rebecca
Harriet Iona

I love Harriet. It was in my final 3 for dd3 born 5 weeks ago.

We went with something else in the end but we had Harriet Daisy as our Harriet combo. I think you need quite a girly middle name as Harriet is a strong name imo. Also how about:

Harriet Lily
Harriet Lucy
Harriet Rose
Harriet Fleur

Personally I would avoid a mn starting with a vowel just in case it spells out something unfortunate if she gets married.

Good luck

RockinRobinBird · 27/11/2010 17:44

Blimey has everyone got a Harriet? I thought we were being original :o

needtogetalife · 27/11/2010 17:45

I like Harriet Rose

eandh · 27/11/2010 19:00

I get so jealous if I hear someone using the name - 2 people I know off (not my friends as such but know them through people have called their daughters Harriet and Hattie in last 6 months)

DD2 (my Hattie) will be 4 in January and we didnt know a single person with her name then!

Tikiinasantahat · 27/11/2010 19:04

I love the name Harriet. I know an extremely beautiful intelligent teenager (friend of dd) known as Harri. She is a Harriet Mary

cupcakebakerer · 27/11/2010 19:55

Oooh I so want to be able to use it now - you have all made me feel very excited about it! If we do have boy though it's George - we've been set on that since day 1.

My Harriet (aka Hattie) has Mary as her middle name.

She's six and although we occasionally encounter others (in places like Dulwich Park, not usually Lewisham itself!), we don't know another Harriet of her age/thereabouts.

fudgesmummy · 28/11/2010 21:47

My Harriet is nearly 21 and her middle name is Amy. I still think its the best girls name ever!!!

diddl · 29/11/2010 07:05

Elizabeth.

cupcakebakerer · 29/11/2010 20:38

I just hope it doesn't make it's way to the top of the most popular names list! I think it's perfect in that it's unusual but not ridiculous and still traditional. So many cute nicknames too.
