Arlo, Ringo or Ely?!?! Or something else?

We have two girls called Mollie and Isla and have a boy due on Saturday but still can't decide on a name! We'd like something that is a bit different to the Archie, Stanley type names and are thinking of Arlo or possibly Ringo or Ely. Any other ideas? And does Arlo sound silly when we already have an Isla?! Thanks!

Arlo's the best of the bunch. Very boho arty. But yes, too close to Isla for my liking.

I meant Eli not Ely by the way!

Congratulations Due Smile. Agree with Pointy, Eli is my favourite but not is Isla. So my next choice from your list is Arlo.

MissMashMissMash · 17/11/2010 21:21

Arlo is my favourite and goes the best with the other names. Also like Asa but I don't think that it goes with Isla.

Ringo is the only one which compliments your other dc. Too many ls otherwise.

Quite like Ringo actually.

nevergoogle · 17/11/2010 21:25

not ringo.

i like arlo.

what about ivo?

Beamur · 17/11/2010 21:25

Ivo is nice.

MakemineaGandT · 17/11/2010 21:27

Leo?

GrimmaTheNome · 17/11/2010 21:28

Glad it wasn't really Ely. Was imagining a set of sibs named after cathedrals ...

maktaitai · 17/11/2010 21:30

God, Ringo? that makes me itch tbh.

Eli or Arlo both good IMO, though Arlo has had a surge if that bothers you.

Inigo a very good call.

IlanaK · 17/11/2010 21:30

I have an Elye. Pronounced the same as Eli.

mrsissue · 17/11/2010 21:33

I liked Eli but picked Ezra instead, I think there are going to be a lot of Eli?s soon not that I think that?s a bad thing. Thank god you meant Eli and Ely because Ely is quite a rough place near Cardiff!

mumatron · 17/11/2010 21:38

phew, was just about to beg you not to use Ely! as mrsissue says it's a bit of a rough spot here in Cardiff.

from your list i like Arlo best.

i liked Evan for a boy, and would of used it this time if dd2 had been a ds.

good luck!

clumsymumluckybaby · 18/11/2010 16:51

I have a 10 week old Arlo,and I LOVE it!
I also concidered,

4madboys · 18/11/2010 16:54

my ds4 is called Rudi Arlo, ds3 was meant to be Arlo but a mum at toddlers used it a few weeks before me!

i love arlo as a name, also like Eli :)

applecharlotte · 18/11/2010 16:59

How about Albie? Thats the name we have decided on. I love Arlo but DP pointed out we live a bit close to Harlow in Essex to name our first born that!

clumsymumluckybaby · 18/11/2010 17:02

I'm actualy quite jealous of 'rudi arlo' I very nearley used arlo rudy, but dp vetoed at the last minute for arlo phoenix.

Hedwig3 · 18/11/2010 19:36

Eli is good.

Ivor?

Highlandgirl · 18/11/2010 19:55

Indy...?

tummytickler · 18/11/2010 19:56

I have an 8 year old ELi and love that - however it sounds rubbish with Isla, they run into each other a bit,
Arlo is very, very now, and I fear it will date a lot more than your other two (one biblical classic, one just a bit mad). I do not like Arlo anyway, and will be everywhere soon, new Felix imo.
Ringo is a bit mad, but nice, so mad that it is cute. My dd would choose this.
I think Ringo flows best with you dd's, but Arlo is more in keeping with their style.

mopsyflopsy · 18/11/2010 21:32

Eli and Arlo do not work with your dd's name Isla. Say them quickly together and they indeed run into each other too much.

From your suggestions I think Ringo works best with Isla and Mollie. Ringo is also the most 'masculine' sounding imo.

SausageMonster · 18/11/2010 21:56

Something else - definitely
