What do you think?

Is it a derivative of Khaleb? How would you pronounce this - Ka-leeb or Kei-lib? I am not sure if I like it, however, if this has a family significance to you, then definitely go for it!

ThatllDoPig · 16/11/2010 21:04

Pronounced Cay-lib.
I'm pretty sure its a biblical name. No family significance just think it sounds nice.
I'm really struggling with boys names as all the ones I like are common as.

I love this name! Its my younger brothers name but if it wasn't then I would love it for a little boy.

mole1 · 16/11/2010 21:10

I know a Caleb - his parents pronounce it Cay-leb. It's pretty unusual - if you like it, go for it!

MissMashMissMash · 16/11/2010 22:46

It is a biblical name. I thought it was becoming quite popular but perhaps not, I think its nice a good solid name that suits all ages.

meadowlarks · 16/11/2010 23:11

I love this name. The only downside is that it means "dog" - but hey - that doesn't stop it being a lovely name.

tummytickler · 16/11/2010 23:14

I love Caleb. It is a little too popular for us though.
It is so lovely.

johnnycomelurky · 17/11/2010 09:49

I love it too! My nephew is called Cael so I don't feel like we can use it if ours is a boy (due in January) but I really love it.

LittleB · 17/11/2010 10:04

Me and dh keep talking about this as a name for ds, due boxing day! DH is v keen but I'm still not sure, not keen on the biblical aspect. I do like it though. Is also said to mean loyal and faithful (like dogs!) Its v poplualr in America at the mo but more unusual over here.

ChickensHaveNoLips · 17/11/2010 10:07

I like it.

Tidey · 17/11/2010 10:08

I like it. Reminds me of the tv show American Gothic.

Violet5 · 17/11/2010 10:34

Does remind me of some american shows but i like it Smile

eastendmummy · 17/11/2010 10:39

I have a Caleb and think it's a great name! We pronounce it Cay-leb. He's almost 3 and I haven't met any others where we live (london) It means loyal which I think is lovely.

Rhubarbgarden · 17/11/2010 10:57

Horrible. Sorry.

coolascucumber · 17/11/2010 11:02

Reninds me of American Gothic too!

Someone's at the door..... very creepy

lanismum · 17/11/2010 12:50

Love it, it reminds me of the gorgeous singer of Kings of Leon.....

MollysChambers · 17/11/2010 12:51

Love it. It's biblical. I think its going to become popular with the Followill connection....

Ragwort · 17/11/2010 12:53

Really don't like it.

merrymonsters · 17/11/2010 22:03

I know a 5 year old Caleb. It's said 'cay-leb'. I probably wouldn't choose it myself, but I like it.

Ephiny · 18/11/2010 11:32

Like it, definitely makes me think of American Gothic though!

Sarsaparilllla · 18/11/2010 15:50

Love it, makes me think of the lead singer in Kings of Leon :)

Shelly32 · 18/11/2010 21:01

Caleb in American Gothic..was he a goodie or a baddie or a mixture??

BelligerentGhoul · 18/11/2010 21:08

Don't like it at all, sorry.

It's in the same style as Seth and Silus, which I also really don't like.

ThatllDoPig · 19/11/2010 15:09

Yes, I was going to ask about the american gothic character. Never heard of it. Please tell us if he is a goody or is he some kind of vampire or other gothic creature?

He's the main protaganist, a young boy. He's good, I guess, though a lot of it is about his fight to stay good and not be drawn over to the other side (it's a real good vs evil story!). It's been quite a few years since I watched it so don't remember all the details!
