Callum or Liam

I know a lot of people will say neither, but if anyone has a preference i'd be interested.
I'm 36 weeks and we had decided on Callum (baby is def a boy) but i keep hearing it around and think i've gone of it a bit. Only other name i really like is Liam. My husband says Callum is his first choice but that he doesn't mind the name Liam.
I know they're not in keeping with the present name trend of Arthur, Seth George etc but we already have 2 boys and their names are Kyle and Owen.
Anyway any votes/thoughts apprecaited, thanks Smile

Prefer Liam. Really don't like Callum for some reason.

yama · 16/11/2010 14:18

I like both. A lot.

Pinner35 · 16/11/2010 14:19

I like Liam....I know a little boy called Callum and he gets called Callie.

DrSpechemin · 16/11/2010 14:20

Liam would go better with your son's names

MissMashMissMash · 16/11/2010 14:26

I love Liam with William as long version.

mopsyflopsy · 16/11/2010 14:37

Liam is much nicer imo.

Violet5 · 16/11/2010 14:41

Thanks everyone, i'm definately swaying towards Liam.

They're not my cup of tea, but I much prefer Liam to Callum.

I once heard a comic (can't think who) say that certain names land with a thud, and that's how I think Callum sounds out loud. Might just be the accents round here though!

Superfly · 16/11/2010 14:59

Liam. But I am biased Smile

AlpinePony · 16/11/2010 15:05

I like both - a lot - but then I've got no klarse and apparently both are "naff"! Wink But then I don't like the Seth/Arthur/Piggingdon/St. John stuff.

Ooopsadaisy · 16/11/2010 15:06

Liam for me.

mopsyflopsy · 16/11/2010 15:07

Piggingdon Grin??

Komondor · 16/11/2010 15:15

Callum.

idobelieveinfairies · 16/11/2010 15:18

Callum. But i am biased Smile

I would object hightly if anyone called my Callum Callie!!!

PandaNot · 16/11/2010 15:19

I like both, Liam was on my list if dd had been a boy but dh vetoed it because of Liam Gallagher! Hmm

I think Liam sounds better with your other children's names.

ThatllDoPig · 16/11/2010 15:24

They are both great names. Wait till he is born and see what suits him.

Mrsmackie · 16/11/2010 15:36

Callum much nicer. Really, really don't like Liam

Secretwishescometrue · 16/11/2010 15:53

Liam for me :) how bout Colm as an alternative to Callum?

Faaamily · 16/11/2010 15:58

Both nice, but I love Liam.

There seems to be consensus on MN that it is 'common', but to me, it's just a lovely, classic Irish name.

Violet5 · 16/11/2010 16:09

Thanks for all the replies, and at least not everyone dislikes the names Smile

Calum, but spelt with the single L.

Minione · 16/11/2010 16:59

I like both names but wouldn't choose either personally as I have taught loads over the past few years (and many have been pita, particularly the Liams!)

Showaddywaddy · 16/11/2010 17:05

I don't like either particularly but Liam goes much better with your other children's names.

ibbydibby · 16/11/2010 17:06

I have a Callum (and admit that I sometimes call him Callybumbum...only indoors though)

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 16/11/2010 17:23

My nephews name is Liam. I love it
