Names like Hope or Faith but NOT!

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help with this. V brief history is I conceived after 3 years ttc and eventually ivf. So far been v difficult pregnancy and lost a twin early on. I think that middle names should mean something and have an idea that it would be nice to have one that represents how much the baby was wanted and the struggle we went through. We're sorted for a boy but for a girl does anyone have any ideas. Something like faith or hope, but I'm not that keen on them.

This idea may well be abandoned as I know it could be very very tacky. I sometimes think that the worst time to come up with a name is during pregnancy! But for the time being could you just play along?! Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Keziah - not a virtue name but tradionally used by people who use them if that makes any sense
Verity
Clemency
Honor
Emer
Felicity
Prudence

Any good?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 10/11/2010 12:17

Hmmm - not that they really fit into your brief, sorry.

Something like Cherie (meaning cherished, I suppose).

smother · 10/11/2010 12:17

Joy

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 10/11/2010 12:18

Ooh - Joy is nice.

boogeek · 10/11/2010 12:18

Amanda ('to be loved')

Lancelottie · 10/11/2010 12:21

...or indeed Amy/Aimee

Mummynumber2 · 10/11/2010 12:23

Ooh! Thanks everyone. Joy or felicity could both be good for middle names I think. Just need to talk to dp about it now!

I see you're sorted for a boy. Rats. I was about to suggest Benedict or David (blessed or Beloved, again).

Beatrice/Beatrix?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/11/2010 12:23

Loving Verity

skippingturtle · 10/11/2010 12:23

Hhm, tricky. Does the name have to be a virtue? Joy? Constance? Precious is a nice sentiment, particularly for your circumstances, but it's tack-tastic unfortunately! Grin

What about a non-virtue name with a nice meaning? Eden means 'delight' in Hebrew. Will get my thinking cap on!

Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy, when are you due?

Mummynumber2 · 10/11/2010 12:24

Or Amy. This idea could work after all!

Our DDs middle name is Croi [pronounced cree] it is the Irish word for heart.

Mummynumber2 · 10/11/2010 12:28

skippingturtle thanks! I'm not due till beginning of June so I have lots of time to change my mind several times! I think maybe a name with a good meaning would be just as good as a virtue name, if not better.

Thanks so much for all the responses, I've got loads of names to think about now!

If i ever have another DD her middle name will be Peace. Its my mothers maiden name and now lost as she was the last to carry it. I do know its a bit naff though Blush

Mummynumber2 · 10/11/2010 12:43

I think Peace is lovely Babydubseverywhere. Not sure it's quite the right sentiment though. What a great maiden name your mum had!
