Felicity???

Me and my DH are considering this name for our DD. We are not overly keen on Flick as a nn but know that there is a good chance it will get shortened, so wanted to get in there first!

What do you think?

It's a bit of a stretch, but ultimately, you can choose any nickname you wnat for your child!

I know a Felicity who is an Effie and one who's a Flissy.

Haven't heard of it as a NN but I don't see why not. My mum is Felicity and was known as Lissie or Liss when little (which I quite like but she now thinks is her child-name) and now Fliss or Felicity.

I know a Felicity who is called Floss.

So I suppose Ettie could be a nickname - although it may be a bit of a stretch.

Why not?

I know a Felicity called Lisa - pronounced Liss-a rather than Lee-sa

I think to have a nn of Ettie you need an Et in the name and Felicity has it - so you could call her Itty Grin

My neice is a Felicity - as a child was called Flizzie, but once she got to 16 she reverted back to Felicity. Her sister is an Ettie - nn for Juliet.

In fact she is an Ettie Betty (which I love Smile) as she is Juliet Elizabeth.

Enrietta, innit?

I knew a girl at uni called Ettie but her real name was an Irish one, Eithne (not sure of the spelling)

Thanks for your feedback. Im still loving the name Felicity and also giving her the potential nn Felicicity but also may refer to her as Fifi whilst she is little Grin
