You don't get put off by Zara the store??? I really like the name but worried that people will immediately think "high street shopping"!

i like it, dont think u have to be put off by the store but if it bothers you that much could put zahra as a different spelling but it might alter the pronounciation
i think just zara is fine really

mycomment · 06/11/2010 00:18

If I had had a girl, I was set on Zahra - its pronounced the same. I love the name

dolcegusto · 06/11/2010 00:18

I love it. It's one of my favourite girls names ever.

Love it so much it's what I called my pfb Grin

TooImmature2BMum · 06/11/2010 11:22

Name of one of my best friends! Always liked it.

Faaamily · 06/11/2010 17:44

I like it.

Caro1302 · 06/11/2010 20:21

I love it, it's always been on my list but DH wouldn't let me use it.

bluebump · 06/11/2010 20:33

My friend just had a Zara, I quite like it.

candyflossbaby · 06/11/2010 20:49

Like it but DH said no. Might try and add it back on the list...

MerryMarigold · 06/11/2010 22:49

Not convinced. Bit too girly/ fashion modelly for me. Somehow can't imagine a Zara in jeans and t-shirt, jumping round playing air guitar!

muminthemiddle · 06/11/2010 23:07

I like it too.

proudfoot · 07/11/2010 01:56

I like it and you don't hear it too often. IMO a good choice.

Vine · 07/11/2010 08:47

Like it, have a 7 month old niece called Zara. Have noticed it becomming more widely used in the past year or so.

Lexx · 08/11/2010 19:48

Yes, I have heard of only a few Zaras but not any lately. Hopefully it wont get too popular!!

ThatllDoPig · 09/11/2010 15:48

I think it's great too. You are lucky if it goes with your surname. You should use it

5DollarShake · 09/11/2010 18:24

Really nice name - didn't even think of the shop.

nancy10 · 14/11/2010 17:41

Thank you for mentioning the name Zara. When I read this post yesterday I liked the name and mentioned it to my bloody fussy dh. And he liked it, in fact I think he was quite excited. We don't know the sex of our baby but at least we may have a girls name sorted, just got to agree on some boys name! Smile

nancy10 · 14/11/2010 17:42

Also it's good enough for royalty!

euracantha · 14/11/2010 19:33

It is a nice name I know a Zara and a Tara both very good names,

thefurryone · 14/11/2010 22:08

It's a nice name, I'd be inclined to spell it Zara otherwise you're DC will spend a lot of time spelling it out and being frustrated with people getting it wrong.
