....and you called your daughter Annabel, would this be weird? Hmm Hmm Hmm

I ask because I have just seen it done.

I love the name (both actually) but as a mother/daughter combo?

Not really my mum is Ann and so is my sister!

FIMBOfedupofrandomfireworks · 05/11/2010 16:22

No, plus the dd will probably end up as Bel or something.

TheBreastmilksOnMe · 05/11/2010 16:24

Not really, no. Plenty of father/son combos have the same name but with junior added on! Why not mother/daughter combos?

Rindercella · 05/11/2010 16:24

No, I don't think so. Only once have I found a mother/daughter name combination odd. That was when a woman named Milly called her daughter Molly. Her choice of course, but made me go Hmm

MardyBra · 05/11/2010 16:26

I always thought Sara/Sarah Payne was an odd combo.

I don't like father/son combos much either. BIL and DNephew have the same name and it's bloody confusing. When SIL says stuff like "xxx has wet his pants", we double check she isn't talking about BIL when he comes home pissed from the pub.

I think it is fine.. The only difficulty might be if she decides to go by Anna when she grows up

BeautifulBlondePineapple · 10/11/2010 13:17

I find it a bit weird too. There are so many names to choose from - why choose something that can be so easily confused with another family member?

I know a Christine/Christina mother daughter combo. Always thought that was a bit odd as well.

purplefeet · 10/11/2010 14:10

I know an Isabel/Annabel mother daughter combo.

TrillianAstra · 10/11/2010 14:13

I think father/son combos with the same name are crap too.
