Can't believe after 9 months the whole family still can't agree on this...

DD is Gabrielle Lily. She will be known as Gaby. How the fuck on earth do you spell it?

Gaby (me)
Gabi (oh)
Gabby (my mum)
Gabbi (mil)
Gabbie (sil)

Don't want everyone forever spelling her name differently. She would have been Gaby instead of Gabrielle on her birth certificate if we could have agreed on a spelling Blush

I would spell it Gabby

AllThreeWays · 01/11/2010 08:05

AFAIK they are all correct, so I guess you will just have to pick one.
I have a Steph, who insists on Stef :)

I think Gabby looks like it sounds, Gaby looks a bit like Gay-be?

Sugarmuppet · 01/11/2010 08:15

Berry thats what Mum thinks too...'Gaby the baby? how can you possibly call her that?!'

I think Gabby looks best.

Sarsaparilllla · 01/11/2010 12:28

I would spell it Gabbi rather than with a y because of the i in Gabrielle

Anyway she might decide when she grows up she doesn't want to be a Gabbi/Gaby/Gabby and use her full name - I did as soon as I was old enough to make my own mind up!! Wink

My friend has a Gabrielle and she is Gabri. Maybe that would save the trouble lol

Latin Americans normally spell this as Gaby.. I think if you live in the UK, Gabby is probably a more correct spelling..

WanderingSheep · 01/11/2010 16:37

I think Gaby!
