Hi all. Do you think Edie can be a stand-alone name or should it be used only as a nn for Edith. Ta!

I like it - as standalone too!

BelligerentGhoul · 31/10/2010 21:34

Love it. Nicer than Edith imho.

Mitchymum · 31/10/2010 22:35

Standalone for me, much nicer than Edith.

TwoIfBySea · 31/10/2010 22:36

Edie is fine by itself, a really nice name actually. The only Edie I knew though was an Edina not Edith.

icapturethecastle · 31/10/2010 22:41

Love it - was my second choice for DD - definitely stand alone.

readywithwellies · 31/10/2010 22:44

I like it, however I thought it was Eddie mispelt at first.

Marlinspike · 31/10/2010 22:46

Lovely as a stand alone. Would go nicely with Grace as a second name IMHO

clemetteattlee · 31/10/2010 22:48

Edie was our choice for DC2 but he turned out to be a boy.
We were going for Edie Matilda.

I love it.

geekygiraffe · 01/11/2010 09:15

Love it, and wanted it as nn for Edith. OH really didn't like it though : (

badcoverversion · 01/11/2010 10:28

I love it and I'm considering it for the little one I have due in May.

I was inspired by the fabulous Grey Gardens.

badcoverversion · 01/11/2010 10:29

Oh and I also think it works both ways...I think I would be inclined to use the full Edith on the birth certificate.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 01/11/2010 10:30

I love it. The main character in a monthly fiction story in Just Seventeen was called Edie. Short for Edith.

Hedwig3 · 01/11/2010 11:01

Perfect on it's own.
