Boy's name?

My husband is called Mark and one of his nicknames is Mario. He really wants this name if our baby is a boy but I'm still not 100% sure. Just wanted to test the water and see what people think? We are not Italian although Mark has Italian relatives! And we could end up with a white, ginger boy! x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Super!

(Sorry, couldn't resist).

It'sa me! A-Mario! I think that would be people's first thoughts, especially if the child doesn't look Italian.

You would have to call the next boy Luigi too. Grin

Not a great idea IMHO.

If it turns out to be twins you could call the other one Wario.

Is your dog called Yoshi by any chance?

MerryMarigold · 31/10/2010 14:28

I like it. It avoids giving baby same name as his dad (Mark Jnr) but there is still a connection.

I went to school with a ginger boy called Mario... dont remember anyone thinking that oddly about it!

I had a flying instructor called Miguel who was mousey blonde. It did seem slightly odd, but I think the worst thing for him was that people couldn't help saying it with an exaggerated Spanish accent - must have been really irritating.

I don't think Mario would invite that to the same extent though.
