Baby girl due Feb 2011-

The 2 names we have sort of decided on are Megan or Charlotte the middle names will be Amelia Eve. Got a fairly common Irish surname beginning with G!

Which one do you prefer- also any similar suggestions are gratefully received!!

I wouldn't go for Megan if your surname starts with G, Meg G.

I agree that Megan Gallagher/Gilligan/Gorman/Garvey doesn't sound great.

Charlotte Garvey (eg) sounds better than megan Garvey.

Muirrean pronounced Mwirren would flow with a sur name beginning with G though. Is that too irish when you're not Irish though?

My husband is half Irish and I am Welsh so we love Celtic names x

oh right! What about Olwen then? Beautiful, beautiful (imo) Welsh name which seems underused to me. (Although maybe very popular in Wales, but I never hear it, unlike Bethan and Megan which you do hear).

Olwen or Clodagh would go well with an Irish sur name beginning with G/

I have a Charlotte Amelia so am probably too biased but think its lovely. I liked Megan too by DH had had a dog called Meg so it was out for us!

I think Charlotte is a lovely name and Lottie for a little girl is really cute (plus Charlie when they're older and grow up to be too cool for Lottie!).

Agree with Runoutofideas - Charlotte Amelia is a great combo - although may be slightly put off that Amelia is in top 10! Smile
