Indigo for a girl?

Hi,
My husband suggested Indigo for our daughter due soon....what do you think of it? I am trying to work out whether it would be a good choice. Does it sound too hippy-ish? Has anyone heard of "indigo child" which is the main thing that puts me off the name. Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks

I knew about the 'Indigo Children' claptrap before we named DS but didn't put the two together. It's just his name and if anybody does have negative thoughts about it they soon get used to it. My MIL was horrid the first time she heard it but now she loves his name.

Wahwahwah - Inigo was the name we heard first and decided it was a bit too far out for us.

I would love to know why it sounds "try hard"?
