Hi,

I'm new, but already asking for help I'm afraid! I have an elective booked for Monday and still our child has no name.

He will be joining older brother Theodore Christopher and whilst the middle name is sorted (one of 2 family names), we are stuck on the first name...thoughts please before we give in and just call him fatty which is what he's being called atm!

(Oh - and I have a thing about being able to shorten the name!)

Lawrence Peter - shortened to - Larry
Leonard Peter - shortened to - Lenny
Emerson Peter - shortened to - Sonny
Ernest William - shortened to - Ernie
Sebastian Peter - shortened to - Seb
Maurice Peter - shortened to - Mo/Moss
Griffin Peter - shortened to - Griff
Samson William - shortened to - Sonny
Tobias Peter - shortened to - Toby
Gabriel Peter - shortened to - Gabe
Dexter Peter - shortened to - Dex

I love Maurice, but I realise I'm in the minority.

Like Sebastian best. Any of them are ok apart from Maurice which is genuinely shocking!!!!

noeyedear · 22/10/2010 08:21

Like Lawrence- like others have said, Lawrie rather than Larry better-, Tobias and Gabriel. I did like Emerson when I read it, but I;m in a minority. All nice really, apart from Maurice.

clpsmum · 22/10/2010 09:23

Sebestian and Dexter are my faves xx good luck with birth and your new little boy

Bechka · 22/10/2010 21:31

Ernie or Seb. Good luck for Monday. I had an ELCS and it was a fantastic experience. Really hope yours is too x

pranma · 23/10/2010 18:09

Francis Peter shortened to Frank?
I love both Sebastian and Gabriel

1Maya2 · 24/10/2010 16:24

I like Leonard and Sebastian

Be careful with Griffin Peter, there's a character on Family Guy called Peter Griffin and you might not like the association.

Quattrocento · 24/10/2010 16:26

Oh these are all fine. I mean I don't like Lenny much but still, y'know, it's better than Elvis.

Mitchymum · 28/10/2010 22:32

Griffin or Seb for me.

elliephant · 28/10/2010 22:54

Maurice -Like it .Know two gorgerous grown ups called Maurice and Moss reminds me of the late, great, Irish rugby player , Moss Keane so that's a runner with me. However, although I prefer Peter as a middle name, I am not sure about Moss Pete ( Peat Moss Grin )

Lawerence - Larry is cute and not overly common, or you could use Lar.

TheNextMrsDracula · 28/10/2010 22:59

Larry? Ernie? Sonny? Lenny? Are you having a baby or a middle-aged uncle?

BiscuitBob · 29/10/2010 13:54

I like Lawrence Peter (but please not shortened to Larry!)
Also like Emerson and Dexter, but not sure either goes with Peter. Could you have Dexter William?
