I'm due in May, and this has always been a firm favourite as it goes so well with our surname. Do you think we can still stick with it even though Cameron nicked it from us? Is it going to be really popular now?

Although, DH has already said he will be using Flozza instead so it may be a non issue if Florence is popular Hmm Grin

If you love the name, use it.

I had a friend who decided not to use Florence because of this, her daughter was born about a week after Camerons. She went for her second choice, which IMO is not as nice. Although Cameron's daughter comes to mind at the moment, it won't be long till everyone will have forgotten Cameron's daughters name.

Florence is a beautiful name. I like the nn Flo.

It was already popular before the Camerons used it - they were just following the trend. It's a lovely name. If you like it, use it!

I know two Florences, one is shortened to Flora and the other to Florrie. Both are about 2 years old. I have know one other Florence and she is about 18 now. I know of other Florences at toddler groups etc but don't know them as such IYSWIM.

I think it might become more common now after the Camerons (though maybe not now all his cuts have made him much more unpopular) but where we are its a reasonably frequently used name already. Its a gorgeous name though.

I think its a lovely name. My friend has a daughter called Florence - she calls her Flo (pronounced Flow)

Florence is a beautiful name and was on my original shortist. I don't know any Florences where I live. I shouldn't worry about the Camerons being name trendsetters, most people will have forgotten about it soon.
