Ok

I love Phoebe - it's a great name- my best briend has a 6 year old phoebe.

Being honest- willow is a bit chocolate Labrador- something you would hear someone shout for their dog in the park. Lots of male dogs are called willow.

I have only heard of raine once- wasnt she the evil stepmother of Diana ? Daughter of Barbara cart land? If Raine is a family name then go with it if you like it. It is spelt raine not rain as far as I know.

BuntyPenfold · 21/10/2010 09:45

Apparently the family called Cartland's DD Acid Raine.

I agree that Willow is used widely for dogs, but I know 2 3-year-old girls as well.

I always liked the name Phoebe until we met one called Beefy, which I absolutely can't stand. Even nursery teacher said Beefy.Sad

Phoebe Willow

luciemule · 21/10/2010 10:43

Phoebe Willow is lovely :)

luciemule · 21/10/2010 10:44

I know a baby with the first name of Willow and I think it's very feminine.

Lora69 · 21/10/2010 16:53

Thanks girls, I dont think I would worry too much about beefy, I would just put them in their place!! Willow was the original one until someone here suggested Raine went really well too.

Any one else? X

I think Phoebe Willow is beautiful; it goes better with your surname, too.

givemebagels · 03/03/2011 20:17

I have a Phoebe - LOVELY name!
My vote for you would be Phoebe Raine.

timetomove · 03/03/2011 20:21

Phoebe is a great name. I know a (very slim admittedly) 8 year old Phoebe and she never gets called beefy. Lots of others though - fee, fifi, feeble, flea, flea bag...

Lora69 · 03/03/2011 20:28

Oh dear!!! That has upset me x

Honestly she only gets called them affectionately - and not be friends at school. They call her Phoebe or phoebs

talulubell · 04/03/2011 12:27

Beefy? Really?!

I have a Phoebe, (Phoebe Loue) and she's widely know as Feebs by friends, family & teachers, which she loves.
I haven't heard of her being called any others like feeble, flea bag etc. I have to admit though we do tend to call her Po-ho-eebee when she's being a stroppy git!

I love Phoebe Willow, very girlie, and Phoebe Raine too but I think you may get a lot of confused spellings. My feebs is 9 and friends and family still struggle now! lol

LisMcA · 04/03/2011 12:37

I vote Raine, Phoebe and Raine were on my DD list if this one was a girl, he's not!!

As others have said the middle name generally doesn't get used day to day, pick the one that means most to you.

And as for the nicknames, almost every name can have a bad meaning nickname. I'm Lisa, fairly innocuous (sp) I had the Nat King Cole song Mona Lisa sung to me (by a teacher) once, the kids picked up on it, subsitiuded Mona for moaning I was then known as Moaning Lisa for the rest of secondry school! It didn't really bother me, I was a bit of a moan anyway!!

I like Feebs as a nickname personally!

Lonnie · 04/03/2011 12:52

I have a 13 year old Phoebe she is called Phoebe not Feebs or flea, beefy, feeble or Po ho eebe or anything else simply Phoebe..

I like Phoebe Willow as I think said out loud the two goes best to gether However out of Willow and Raine I much prefeer Raine as a name Smile (was on short list for dd2)

Lora69 · 04/03/2011 21:23

Thank you ladies, I appreciate the feedback :)

I am leaning towards Willow now (Phoebe Willow) as I can use Raine as a mn for another girl if I ever have one (Though i dont think i will, so needed to really pick my fave this time around)

Its good to know that Phoebe doesnt always get any dodgy nicknames!

I like Feebs to the ear, but written down like that it reminds me of feeble too much. I wonder about another spelling.. Phoebs, Pheebs..?

I also love Bee/Bea. :)

Not a fan of Fee and hate Fi-Fi xx
