I like both these names (would choose just one, not both), but do they just make you think of hay lofts, goats and sick girls up mountains?

I love Heidi.Clara is ok but I'm not so fond of it.

Beamur · 19/10/2010 21:33

Yes they do, but I quite like Heidi - Clara less so perhaps.

tiredlady · 19/10/2010 21:33

Clara is a beautiful name and very classy imo

Haliborange · 19/10/2010 21:35

They would be good names for a lovely jersey cow.

Nonetheless I do quite like them...

I like them. Very popular though

zenon · 19/10/2010 21:46

Clara is lovely.Smile

piscesmoon · 19/10/2010 22:05

Clara is best.

Jojay · 19/10/2010 22:06

Prefer Clara

Skyrg · 19/10/2010 22:07

Yes they do, but I don't see that as a problem! Prefer Heidi.

smother · 19/10/2010 22:27

Clara - no contest!

dinosaurinmybelly · 19/10/2010 22:31

Both beautiful

Giddyup · 20/10/2010 10:11

Clara every time

foreverastudent · 20/10/2010 10:13

I like them both but Heidi has been slightly tainted by Kerry Katona's use of it. Clara makes me think of the Thomas the Tank Engine character Clarabel.

Komondor · 20/10/2010 10:25

Heidi is a bubbly swiss girl with blue eyes and blond plaited pigtails.

Clara is English, works as a florist, very elegant, with pale skin olive eyes and long dark brown hair.

Helenastar · 20/10/2010 10:30

this Thread has got me singing the theme tune to the Heidi series that used to be
shown on BBC 1 back in the early 80's. Grin I have a friend called Heidi, so I think the name is quite pretty, but it also reminds me of Kerry Katona's daughter. Hmm

BuntyPenfold · 20/10/2010 10:53

I know nothing of Kerry Katona's daughter, but I do think of the little girl who lived in the mountains.
Very pretty name.
I think Clara was the invalid child in the book, who miraculously recovered?
Also Clara in the Nutcracker, I can't think of any negatives.
Both sweet names.

Clara had her whhelchair pushed down the mountain by jealous Peter

mathanxiety · 21/10/2010 03:04

I think Clara Schumann rather than the tragic Clara. Talented, sophisticated, and lovely music in other words.

Heidi is clunky by comparison. I always associate it with Wendy for some reason, and goats, obviously, also goat milk, goat cheese, and the smell of goats, goat milk, and goat cheese.

asdx2 · 21/10/2010 06:48

Definitely Clara if for no other reason Heidi's the name of one of Kerry Katona's children Grin

Silkstalkings · 21/10/2010 17:35

Had both of these on my shortlist for DS2. Also had Marianne and Nancy if that helps.

weepootle · 21/10/2010 17:38

I like both, Clara is probably my favourite.

Notyetamummy · 21/10/2010 20:24

Absolutely adore both!

Although I would have Adelheid nn Heidi.

However I have loved both of these names since I was a child and loved the Heidi story.

Rhubarbgarden · 21/10/2010 20:29

Clara is lovely. Heidi is a bit twee.

yummymummie1 · 21/10/2010 22:26

I think Clara is lovely :)

Concordia · 21/10/2010 22:27
