Do you like Spencer for a boy or do you think it sounds chavvy??

I like it :)

mopsyflopsy · 14/10/2010 10:05

I like it too.

SaorAlba · 14/10/2010 11:11

Love it :)

cumbria81 · 14/10/2010 11:12

I think it could be slightly chavvy but I do like it.

BuntyPenfold · 14/10/2010 11:12

Absolutely can't bear it, sorry.
Chavviest possible name around here.

pigindisguise · 14/10/2010 11:12

great name

BuntyPenfold · 14/10/2010 11:13

I see I am over ruled:)

Yummygummybear · 14/10/2010 13:38

I like it too. Only know 1 Spencer at the moment...

MamaVoo · 14/10/2010 14:08

I like it. The only Spencer I know is a very cute little boy with a very chic mother, so I don't think of it as chavvy at all.

chickentwizzler · 14/10/2010 15:26

I'm not sure. Prefer Mason?

I dont think its a chavvy name though.

NiceCuppaT · 14/10/2010 22:33

Love it!
Would never cross my mind that it was chavvy! is it really????

fulltimeworkingmum · 14/10/2010 22:37

Sorry - dreadful!
What is it with all these surnames as first names? I do not understand it.

KenDoddsDadsZombieDogsNotDead · 15/10/2010 09:25

Makes me think of Spencer Pratt from the Hills!

Spookberries · 15/10/2010 13:15

Definitely couldn't abide this. Marks & Spencer? No thanks.

sleepyhorse · 15/10/2010 16:18

Its ok guys have decided to go with Joseph now.

OP posts:
Lexx · 15/10/2010 20:37

I would have liked Spencer however I think Spencer from the Hills has ruined the name for me- sorry!

usualsuspect · 15/10/2010 20:39

I love it ..much better than Joseph

LiquoriceLila · 15/10/2010 21:36

Yep I prefer Spencer to Joseph. Would never have thought Spencer a chavvy name

Stinkyfeet · 15/10/2010 21:38

I thought the same as KenDoddsDad.

pippylongstockings · 15/10/2010 21:58

Spencer is very good - I really like the whole surname as first name thing.

Basically so many children have 'different' names these days I don't think it overly matters. I know an Orson, Tadhg, Bryon, Darcy, Dylan, Bethany, Hector, Kitty, Jackson, Wilfred, Freddie, Cory, Elliot, Connor, Mabel, Ernie, etc etc etc none of which are high on the top names list but all are perfectly normal children with perfectly normal parents it is just part of life these day that children aren't all called Michael and Paul and Steven.

shockers · 15/10/2010 22:11

I much prefer Joseph...

Sorry, I do think Spencer is slightly chavvy.

usualsuspect · 16/10/2010 10:36

I know quite a few Spencers ..most of them are in their 20s ..don't think chavs were around then

Joseph is a nice safe name though
