I like it. Much better than jaiden/Haiden

Suzihaha · 09/10/2010 22:14

Lovely name. Was top of our shortlist.

onadietcokebreak · 09/10/2010 23:24

I heart it.....but then I would Wink

Consider the Spelling though...its always spelt wrong Aidan or Aiden? Please god though never Ayden, Aidin, Aden.

Really dislike Aiden/Aidan, sorry. It's very common round here and not in the frequently used sense, either.

onimolap · 10/10/2010 08:53

I think it's a lovely name, and such classic saints' names will always endure well enough through blips of popularity.

onadietcokebreak · 10/10/2010 11:25

Well 4/5 isnt bad......

ValiumSingleton · 10/10/2010 11:54

I like it but I would spell it Aidan. That is the most common spelling in Ireland. In fact, not sure I've ever seen Aiden in Ireland. Could be wrong.

ValiumSingleton · 10/10/2010 11:54

Just realised that Irish actor Aiden Gillen spells it with an e, so ignore me.

thisisyesterday · 10/10/2010 11:55

i dislike it too.
i don't know why, but I have never liked Aiden or Hayden

5DollarShake · 10/10/2010 12:31

DH is an Irish Aiden, although the registrar did spell it Aidan on his birth certificate. Confused Grin

Great name.

FranSanDisco · 10/10/2010 12:37

Aiden is a Saint's name. My primary school was St. Aiden's RC Primary. It is a lovely name and nothing like Jayden/Hayden/Kayden as it's not made up or modern.

MrsRhettButler · 10/10/2010 12:39

my dss is called aedan (i like that spelling btw) its a lovely name however its spelt

persephoneplum · 10/10/2010 13:16

It's definitely the best of all the 'den' names but it's not my style at all.

TanteRose · 10/10/2010 13:19

lovely! I am the "tante" of an Aidan...

snowmummy · 10/10/2010 15:29

I love it and have done so ever since I fell in love with Aidan Quinn in Desparately Seeking Susan Grin

curlycat · 10/10/2010 22:10

I have an Aiden and i still love it 6 years down the line after refusing to leave the delivery room until he had a name to leave with. Picked it as it was the only boys name me and DP could agree on for a boy

Minione · 11/10/2010 17:44

My DS ( who was sadly stillborn) has the middle name Aidan. It was Dh's choice and not a name I had considered whilst pregnant. It is quite popular but not common ( I assume the poster meant common or chavvy)but it is a fairly classic name (particularly if you have Irish connections)and I wouldn't put it in the same category as Jayden/Kayden.

Aiden George is lovely imho!

batsforlashes · 11/10/2010 18:53

Really like it but prefer it spelt Aidan. Anything that reminds me of John Corbett in Sex and the City has to be a good thing !

pointydog · 11/10/2010 19:08

I like Aidan a lot.

PaulineCampbellJones · 11/10/2010 19:18

Lots of Aidens, Aydn (kid you not), Aidans here. It is quite an Irish area though. Like it if it doesn't have a random spelling and Aiden George sounds fab.

onadietcokebreak · 11/10/2010 20:02

Minione. Sorry about your loss.

Batsforlashes It was only when watching Sex in the City 2 in the cinema with my friend post DS that I realised why I had been so set on the name!

spiderlight · 11/10/2010 23:16

I love it but prefer the spelling 'Aidan' (as in Turner :o )
