I overheard a name in the park, a lovely little boy named Fen (or is it spelt Fenn?)

Is it actually a name? Does anyone know anything about the name?

Fenn - from the fenland

Quite like actually.

beccagrace2 · 09/10/2010 07:52

i know it as a girls name, fen

Bagpusstree · 09/10/2010 09:55

Nope, but think Fenn is quite a sweet name for a little boy.

niccibabe · 09/10/2010 10:22

May be confused with Finn which is very popular - I know 3 little boys called Finn. Also, several Finlay/Finleys, one of whom has his name shortened to Fin.

Panzee · 09/10/2010 10:24

Short for Fenchurch? All H2G2 fans would be in geeky appreciation. :)

SpiderWilliam · 09/10/2010 10:49

I had a maths teacher called Miss Fenn so surname as first name potential

Or

Girl's name Fenella for which Fen could plausibly be the nn

dexifehatz · 11/10/2010 19:40

My Felicity could have been Fenella,I think it's a beautiful name.

looblee · 19/10/2010 12:22

I LOVE Fenn, it would be on my list as number 1 if it wasn't one of my friends surnames.

Komondor · 20/10/2010 12:57

Love the name Fenella, with Fen as nn. My hubbie thinks its poncey though.

StrictlyOogieBoogiePumpkin · 20/10/2010 16:50

Fenn is a girls name I thought. A RLF just had a DD called it.

FimboBBINGFORAPPLES · 20/10/2010 17:11

I know a girl Fenn.

ValiumSkeleton · 20/10/2010 18:55

I prefer Fionn. (fyun)

SusieJW · 13/01/2011 16:19

I have a 7 yr old boy, Fenn - still love the name now - (a uni friend was called Fenn and have met another boy, so definitely not a girls name!)

PlanetLizard · 13/01/2011 16:27

Not keen although it does make a change from Finn.

tebbles · 13/01/2011 20:21

It is nice.......... but unfortuately due to all the little Fins/Finns out there now it will probbaly be mishead and mispronounced too much IMO

So I would stay away from it.

You'd have to not mind having the name meaning a windswept peat bog.
