OK. I really like Nicolette but DH thinks its too much like nicorette. Is he right?

Will it matter?

He is right. Love Nicole, is that not on your list?

WillYouDoTheDamnFanjo · 07/10/2010 21:28

I did have to try very hard not to think about smoking when I read the title. Sorry. Nicole is sweet, though.

mathanxiety · 07/10/2010 21:28

Do you like Colette?

Nicola? Used to be very common when I was growing up, but you don't seem to get so many these days?

bundlebelly · 08/10/2010 14:32

I think Nicole is a beatiful name. I used to teach one who was lovely too.
Why do you specifically want a long name? Just preference or any other reason?
I think Nicolette is pretty, but ruined by the gum. sorry.

HighlandlassinLondonshire · 08/10/2010 15:07

Sorry but no...!

LetThereBeRock · 08/10/2010 15:42

He's right.

MuffinMouse · 08/10/2010 16:36

bundlebelly - three or four syllables, just cause my other two DCs have. I read the baby naming expert woman who wrote that if you have a pattern for naming, stick to it, otherwise the next child may wonder what was different about them... - Just made me think that the other two have long names that don't get shortened. But I'm finding it really tricky, and DH tends to veto rather than make suggestions (is this a man thing?)

pigindisguise · 08/10/2010 17:29

I would go for Nicole or Colette

ByTheSea · 08/10/2010 17:35

I think it's a lovely name -- one of my favourites, actually.

belgo · 08/10/2010 17:37

Much prefer Nicole. It's one of the few girls names where the simpler version is much prettier then the fussy version.

ValiumSingleton · 08/10/2010 18:48

Stubb it out.

kizzibear · 08/10/2010 19:10

I didnt think of nicorette when I read it. lmao at valiumsingleton.

FourEyesGood · 08/10/2010 20:10

The first thing I thought was "For every cigarette, there's a Nicolette", which doesn't do the name any favours and also shows that I've been watching too much non-BBC telly lately.

lazycow007 · 08/10/2010 20:17

My dd name is on your list mathanxiety.

Can't think of any more sorry muffinmouse - as you guys are married you can register her name without him Grin

MuffinMouse · 08/10/2010 20:39
