Middle name for Nina

Libbyloulou · 03/10/2010 10:46

Dh and I have decided we are set on the name Nina.
Now on to middle name discussions! (Surname begins McT)
The two main contenders are:

Nina Scarlett
Nina Madeleine

Opinions on these and other suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks.

My DD is Nina, great name. We thought it needed a longer middle name & went for Catherine after my mum.

Out of your options I prefer Madeleine but I have a bit of a thing about Scarlett...

MentalFloss · 03/10/2010 11:00

I prefer Nina Madeleine because it seems to flow better.

Other suggestions:
Grace
Charlotte
Amelie
Isabelle
Elise
Elizabeth
Sophie
Josephine
Genevieve
Clementine

Nina is v cool. I would go for a grand 4syllable middle name like Alexandra, Isabella, Hermione, Persephone, Felicity, Violetta, Penelope, Tatiana.

Nina Rae
Nina Rose
Nina Jane
Nina Marie
Nina Louise
Nina Maribelle

Go with Madeleine the other is to hard to say

Libbyloulou · 04/10/2010 16:40

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.
Is the double 'a' ending in Nina Isabella too much?
If not what are opinions on Nina Francesca too?

More ideas/suggestions welcome!

I really like Nina Francesca.

I suppose Nina Cherry is out of the question? :o

Fimbo · 04/10/2010 17:12

Nina Gabrielle

Nina Louise

Nina Jasmine

or you could opt for

Nina Simone -Grin

NKinDXB · 04/10/2010 17:27

I like Madeleine or Isobel. Some 'double -a' combinations could be a bit much but Francesca works well I think.

Nina is a pretty name (on my shortlist but DH vetoed).

mathanxiety · 04/10/2010 18:33

Nina Francesca is lovely. I love Nina Madeleine too. Really dislike Scarlett, and I think it takes Nina in a whole different direction.

I don't speak like this myself, but I'm aware others do -- would the Nina Isabella option get that R inserted onto the end of Nina (or any other name beginning with a vowel)?

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 04/10/2010 18:35

Nina Louise

ninamag · 04/10/2010 20:53

My DD is Nina Elizabeth. I love the Nina bit. I am Elizabeth as is my mum, and thought they sounded nice together.

We met another Nina for the first time today, quite unusual. DS is James. Common as muck.

nelliesmum · 05/10/2010 21:33

Simone...

Bagpusstree · 05/10/2010 21:41

Nina Andtheneurons?

Sorry. Totally unhelpful. Like Nina Madeleine, but not sure about Nina Madeleine McT, think it needs a different consonant.
Yes to Nina Francesca from me Smile

Lpsmum · 05/10/2010 21:53

I prefer Nina Madeleine

MuffinMouse · 06/10/2010 20:06

Hmm, beginning to see some teasing potential.
Is it worth changing our minds and going with Lucia or Francesca?
