We need a middle name for Alice (due in 3 weeks) - thinking something long-ish and traditional like Madeleine, Harriet, Camilla, Imogen..? I quite like all these but want something to jump out at me. Any ideas??

go for something that you are not brave enought to use as a first name. like - just for example - jemima or cressida or thomasina.

You don't have to have a middle name... or you could have two!

Traditional names I like:
Caroline
Eleanor
Victoria
Josephine
Rosamund

And yes, you could go for something a bit more interesting - how about Valentina?

What about a meaningful/significant family member name like a grandparent?

We used both grandfathers names for DS1 and then a great-grandfathers name for DS2. It meant we kept their names, which are important to us, in the family.

I know an Alice Matilda and Alice Mary, both are lovely combinations. How about Miriam as a middle name?

SE13Mummy · 30/09/2010 22:20

I've just remembered that my cousin is an Alice Elizabeth...

I like Alice Elizabeth...that's nice. I know two little Alice's; Alice Sofia and Alice Ivy. I like Alice Evangeline as well...I think the A-E sound is nice
