Love Will.

I prefer it when they have full names - Theodore and William. Out of the shortened versions I think I prefer Theo (Will can lead to Willy...).

Will

babysoon1 · 29/09/2010 10:28

definitely want to use the name I am going to call him by, so it would just be Will.

Love Will. Unfortunately we have a surname that makes it sound ridiculous but it is my favourite boy's name.

Like Theo a lot, too, though.

smother · 29/09/2010 10:57

Since you're always comparing names against Theo, I would stick with Theo as that's obviously your favourite!!

Will is ok - tho' a bit posh/public school boyish. I think it would be better to use William on the birth cert if you could bear it.

kizzibear · 29/09/2010 10:59

Theo I think

amidaiwish · 29/09/2010 10:59

def Theo if you don't like "William"
Will is a shortversion, people will assume he is a "William"

SirBoobAlot · 29/09/2010 11:09

Theo if you're not going to use William. Will just sounds silly, and it will always be assumed William is his full name.

mimimomma · 30/09/2010 14:05

mmmm...very difficult as both are lovely. I agree with SirBoob that if you're not going to use William then go for Theo. Have just added both names to my 'Future DS list'.

bundlebelly · 30/09/2010 14:28

I think Will.
And I think its better than William too. Just more friendly and unusual sounding.

diddl · 30/09/2010 15:10

Theo.

Like Theo William tbh!

bigbluebump · 30/09/2010 15:15

Will - honestly?

Will is way too close too Willy for silly schoolboys not to tease him with.

And a will is someone's last wish.

Neither or which I think are particularly nice connotations.

Theo is nice, but I prefer Theodore.

rachel234 · 30/09/2010 15:18

I like both Theodore and William.

Theo is a cute nickname but Will is a verb/name to my ears ("Will, will you come here Grin).

Also agree about the teasing potential Will/Willy.

tammytoby · 30/09/2010 15:22

Theo is quite 'trendy'. I'm not keen on Will but like William. I agree with previous posters about the teasing potential with Willy.

mopsyflopsy · 30/09/2010 22:10

I like Theodore, but Theo is indeed quite popular at the moment.

William is ok, but I'm really not keen on Will - too much like a verb/noun rather than a name. Hadn't thought about the Willy connection, actually until reading this thread Grin.

justonemorethen · 30/09/2010 22:23

Can't see a problem with Will. It's nice traditional English name. Willy is the nice way to describe a boys' bits. Different to a Dick in that it's commonly used with "head"!

Theo can be a girls name and to me always reminds me of the President.Doesn't help I know a Theo who is a difficult child.
