What do you think? We have anglo-italian backgrounds and a 3 syll italian surname beginning with B:

Maya Sophia
Amaya Sophia
Anya Sophia

Maya Naomi
Amaya Naomi
Anya Naomi

Maya Jessica
Amaya Jessica
Anya Jessica

We haven't even started on the boys yet so I will post for help when we get there!

Thanks

I have an Anya Grin

She is just about the lovliest 11yr old I've ever met Wink

I had wobbles about her name after she was registered, but I absolutely adore it now.

yama · 25/09/2010 18:57

I love ALL first names. Really lovely.

Sophia works best as a middle name with all three.

PaulineCampbellJones · 25/09/2010 19:58

Anya Sophia

pointydog · 25/09/2010 20:11

I like Anya. Anya Sophia.

4sophia · 25/09/2010 22:41

Maya Jessica

ValiumSingleton · 26/09/2010 18:02

Anya Sophia or Anya Jessica

coraltoes · 27/09/2010 09:59

Anya Sophia without a doubt.

Any of the first names with Naomi is too much of a mouth full of vowels. Anya really is a beautiful first name!

lal123 · 27/09/2010 10:01

We've got a Maia so I'm biased!

kasbah · 27/09/2010 10:39

Wow, thanks for the replies. Sounds like Anya is the favourite at the moment. We loved all three and there are reasons behind each middle name. It is good to see that none of them have an OMG reaction.

Thanks
Kasbah

I have an Anya so I am biased but most people comment on her name in a positive way!

Maya is pretty too!

loobylu3 · 27/09/2010 21:11

I like Maya the best.
Anya is fine.
Not keen on Amaya (I don't think the A at the beginning adds anything)

nameymcnamechange · 27/09/2010 21:13

Anya.

There's loads of Mayas.

Amaya sounds just wrong somehow.

Are any of the middle names family names? Your mum or mil or aunt or grandmother? I do think its nice to put a family name in if you can.

AnnieLobeseder · 27/09/2010 21:15

Maya Sophia.

Would you pronounce Maya as Maayah or Mayer?

I have a Maya (Maayah) so am very biased! But she gets called Mia a lot.

Sexonlegs · 27/09/2010 21:18

DD2 has a friend at preschool called Maya but pronouned Mya; I love it. Maya Sophia.

chaya5738 · 27/09/2010 21:25

I love Maya but it is WAY too popular now

I have a Maya, so I am biased. I wouldn't be put off by the "it's soooo popular" viewpoint. I think there are a few in the South, but very few up North.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 28/09/2010 15:13

MAYA SOPHIA

lucky1979 · 28/09/2010 15:16

I don't think Jessica goes with the other names or the surname.

I like Anya Sophia best of the ones you do have.

mathanxiety · 28/09/2010 15:39

Naomi Sophia.
Or Anya Sophia if you're dead set on one of the three.

Forget Maya and Amaya -- they're a bit insignificant imo.
