Are there many newborn Emilys at the minute or is it slightly older ones? Round here I don't know any babies, but according to the last stats (2008??) it is really really popular, so a little confused! How about where you are?

Loads in Surrey

I do not know of any Emilys here in North East-lovely name-go for it.

TrillianAstra · 19/09/2010 20:49

Not so popular that you should avoid it for fear of your dd being Emily no four in her class, but not so rare that people will say em me what in confusion because they have never heard if it before.

Ok?

I only know 1, aged 4 yo (Herts).

Faaamily · 19/09/2010 20:51

I know one who is 4 yrs old. I know two baby Amelies. (London).

taffetacat · 19/09/2010 21:07

I know 4 in our village - one is 10, one is 6, one is 3 and the other is 2.

I am in Scotland and there are loads of Emiliy's round here. Millie's too.

sophiesmummie · 19/09/2010 21:34

Loads round here in Surrey, as well as loads of Amelies, Emilias, Millies and Tillies...I think Emily has been THE top most popular name for a number of years already.

I think it will date because, just like fashion, people will tire of it. Like popular 70s names did too.

sonniebonnie · 19/09/2010 22:15

Quite popular in London. A little dull imo.

Hulababy · 19/09/2010 22:17

There are two 8y Emilys in DD's class of 15.

cece · 19/09/2010 22:17

I know several here in Surrey

zozzle · 19/09/2010 22:52

Know 3 under 10. Too girly for my taste.
