Ehem, Football managers? o_0

So we have almost chosen our names for when lovely baby arrives;

Nico Alex(ander)
or
Laila Jamie

(we don't know yet if it be boy or girl)

However, DP is convinced that Alex (he doesn't even want the full name!) will be after Alex Ferguson, whereas I would rather it after my brother!...

Just now we are telling each other's families opposite stories but eventually they will all come together and no doubt my parents will crucify us for allowing him to say it was after a football manager of all things...

How do I a) convince him that since I am allowing him to say it is something based on football, he should be fine with it being the full name at least (ehem, I'm sure Fergie was christened with the full name too! );

and/or b) convince him that it should be after my wonderful, intelligent, kind, musical, athletic brother not someone who instructs overpaid idiots on how to shuffle a ball around a field?

Of course the arguement may die totally when we discover in 6 weeks that it is a girl...
