Doris.
I think i like it, i think it might go on our list (although dh seems to be the only one allowed a list - he is saying no to all my namesHmm).
Unfortunately the 2nd mn has to be Denise, so it would be something like

Doris Juniper Denise or
Doris Violet Denise.

Anyway - we have a whole list of 4 now, none of which drive me wild but they are ok, as dh will not give in to any of mine at all . . . . .

So, as if i could not guess, any thoughts on Doris?

I think its quite cute, but not utterly convinced. Think its fine with Denise with another name in between though....

How about Iris?

tummytickler · 27/08/2010 17:18

bagpusstree - my 9 year old dd is called Iris!

Doris is terrible.

SoupDragon · 27/08/2010 17:46

Personally, I think Doris is a horrible name, dumpy and plain sounding.

Bagpusstree · 27/08/2010 17:50

Oh. Maybe not Iris then, might get a little confusing!

wigglybeezer · 27/08/2010 17:54

I prefer Dorothea.

Tummytickler, I hate Darcy too Grin but thought I'd suggest it as it has a sort of similar sound.

I'm glad you won't be using it!

Denise is sounding nicer to me by the minute -- I actually considered it as a mn for DD1 20 years ago. I spent a lovely few hours in the cathedral of St. Denis outside Paris once and the name reminds me of that.

No no no... dreadful name

My DDs call me Doris. When we were teenagers we said "our old woman" for our DM. The teenagers now say "Our Doris".
