Any thoughts on this? :)

Love Hazel, was on our list for ages. Unfortunately now I am pregnant with dc5 there is a Hazel starting in Emmerdale (from the look of the adverts) , and as I have 3 dc with Emmerdale names already (I am told!) I do not want to use another one!
It is beautiful though - use it for me :)

ValiumSingleton · 25/08/2010 17:44

Oh I love it! One of the best 'old lady' names.

GladioliBuckets · 25/08/2010 19:21

Love it, I don't see it as an old lady name, more a witchy Wicker Man one.

LynetteScavo · 25/08/2010 19:23

Not for me.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 25/08/2010 19:33

Lovely, I wouldn't say it was an old lady name, more of the Joanne/Debbie era but very nice.

DirtyMartini · 25/08/2010 19:37

Like it lots, good to see a name that starts and ends with consonants -- strong, intelligent connotations IMO.

horatia · 25/08/2010 20:48

Not keen, sorry.

SirBoobAlot · 25/08/2010 20:49

Can't picture it as a first name as its a friends surname.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 25/08/2010 20:51

i really, really like it. its my nans name.

Bacofoil · 25/08/2010 20:52

It's a bit Watership Down but I really like it.

withorwithoutyou · 25/08/2010 20:55

Yep agree with Bacofoil, all a bit Hazel Rah.

Heather, I prefer, if pushed in that kind of direction.

Ishouldhavechosenagoldfish · 25/08/2010 21:02

I liked it as a boys name ... it was in one of the Cannery Row (John Steinbeck) books. But he does explain it, saying the man's mother couldn't seem to remember that she'd had a boy - as I found out on checking up on the name for my ds. Think it might have taken him some explaining, tho!

PaulineCampbellJones · 25/08/2010 21:24

I have a friend called Hazel so I really like it.

pozzled · 25/08/2010 21:25

I really like it.

Brillbryant · 26/08/2010 23:09

Any thoughts on Mani for a baby boy? I'm starting to worry, absolutley no ideas about what to call our little boy due in 3 wks.....auugh!!

Brillbryant · 26/08/2010 23:12

Oops! New to this ! I've appeared to put something completly irrelevant in the wrong post...thoughts on hazel though, I adore it. I think it's a very classy name and any child will be blessed with such a pretty name. Isn't julia Roberts little girl called hazel?

diddl · 27/08/2010 07:48

Really old fashioned.

ZZZenAgain · 27/08/2010 07:50

quite like it, wouldn't have ever thought of it myself. Doesn't have an old lady feel to me.

AT1137 · 27/08/2010 07:54

Absolutely love Hazel.

shitforbrains · 27/08/2010 08:43

Love!

a very good choice.

facebook · 27/08/2010 19:31

I like it a lot! DH loves it too. We can't decide between Hazel or Heather for our dc2 (should add I am not pg yet, just ttc so every chance our dc2 may be another boy!)
