so, i thought i had found the perfect name:

Arlo Edward

but dp, is a big ol' hippy and has started suggesting things like River, forest, devendra, rowan etc

i dont hate all of these names,in fact quite like rowan, but im just not sure...maybe as mn's?
what do you guys think?
it's totally thrown me as im 38 weeks!
i dont want to just say "no ive already decided on a name!"

just as background dd's name was a compromise too,i wanted matilda rose he wanted sky,so she is sky matilda rose.

I think Sky & River/Forest would definitely sound v hippy dippy! I love Rowan & Arlo. Edward is far too boring for me I'm afraid but that's just my taste.

BubbaAndBump · 23/08/2010 08:50

I agree Sky & River is just setting them up for a fall - and if you have any more after this one you'll have to call it Rainbow or Snowdrop or some such to fit the pattern :)

Arlo is lovely and is as out there but normal (meant nicely) as Sky. Stick to your guns, esp. if DH got Sky in as a first name with DD, it's your turn now :)

tammytoby · 23/08/2010 08:51

I love Rowan. Arlo is nice too. I've not heard of Devendra or River, but do they go with your surname?

Edward is indeed a little dull and wouldn't be my choice either. But as a middle name it really doesn't matter.

SirBoobAlot · 23/08/2010 08:56

I wouldn't have another "hippy" name to be honest... Rowan is nice, but River and Forest combined with Sky is just a bad idea IMO!

I think Arlo Edward is lovely - Edward is a really nice name, and Arlo is slightly different but not odd.

Stick with your original name.

skyeplusbump · 23/08/2010 09:25

my thoughts exactly,i just dont think i could go around saying
"these are my children sky and river..."Hmm

tbh i find sky a bit much, but it suits her now.

Edward is a bit dull for me to btw,but it was my grandads name.and i like how it sounds with Arlo.

any ideas on a hippish mn to go with arlo?

bubbaandbump your right,i totally win this time!

our sir name is double barreled sounds like perry-george

I think Arlo Edward is lovely..... As it has a family connection too then I'd fight to keep it. Arlo is slightly unusual, and to throw a hippy dippy name in along with a double barrelled surname might easily become a bit of a mouthful?

Another vote for Arlo Edward.
