I like Ava and Amelia, not so keen on Isla.

I like Oliver best from your boys' list. I'm afraid I'm not keen on surnames as first names (Harvey, Harrison).

How about

Iona
Evelina
Megan
Sara
Louisa
Amber
Sophie
Lydia
Jasmine
Emma

Henry (Harry as nickname)
Thomas
Jacob
Nathan
Daniel
Luke
Benjamin
Ethan
David
Joel

I adore Isla. I don't have an opinion either way about any of the boys names, except to say that Oliver is rather over-popular.

Surprise · 21/08/2010 23:39

ava ok - getting very popular
isla - ditto
amelia - quite nice
partner loves LILLIE - spell it the proper way Lily

harvey - sounds like a poodle
oliver - very common
harrison - sounds very chavvy

How about Max, Oscar, Lawrence, Felix or Alex?

MollysChambers · 22/08/2010 00:04

Love your girls names. Not so keen on boys..

Maybe Harris instead of Harrison?

Isaac, Daniel, Jude?

kalo12 · 22/08/2010 00:10

your names are all very popular by the way

Isaac and Daniel are also popular

MollysChambers · 22/08/2010 00:40

Is popular a bad thing then?

kalo12 · 22/08/2010 00:45

no but you might not realise how popular they are til you've got one.

mathanxiety · 22/08/2010 05:52

I like Isla from your girls' list, and even though it's in the top ten, I like Oliver. Harrison is nice too imo.

beckie90 · 22/08/2010 13:36

ive never met any of the names i have chosen though so it doesnt really matter to me only name i have met is amelia and none of those names at ds nursery so thats good well apart from oliver, were i live you dont hear these names at all, i dont think popular is really a that bad thing, if i did pick lily i would spell it lillie because thats what makes it abit different for me.
HORATIA i like ethan thats nice

THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR OPINIONS AND SUGGESTIONS :)

Good choices. I love Ava, have you considered Aoife (Ee-fa) and I like Harrison but love Ethan.
Name trends vary so much from place to place so if there isn't that many Ava's/Ethan's near you then go for it.
Baby naming is a minefield....good luck!

beckie90 · 22/08/2010 14:03

no not met one ava hadnt even thought of the name till i came on here, it might be popular in the world lol but its not popular here so thats all that matters. all my year as just about had children and i know not one has called there child ava or ethan. theres keiras, jessicas, ellas, jacks, harrys, also a curtis lol theres a lily though and logans and brooklyn is quite popular over here.

thats a lovely name, sounds strange to me at the min but 1st time ive heard it i think that name could grow on me, is it a girls name?
