Got bfp yesterday, so still a long way to go obviously, but I am holding out hope that this will be a sticky baby, and my days of miscarriage are over :)
Dh went through my long girls list (he is convinced it is a girl and has always been right about every baby ever born since we have been together (12 years) - tis creepy. Anyhow.

He wants to whittle down the enormous list i posted the other day and his picks are

Mary
Sally
Jean
Joan.

I like them all, but I am not sure any more. I will change my mind a million times but dh tends to be quite definate (although i usually get my way Grin)
I am a little concerned that these simple names will get suddenly trendy in response to the current fad for girly names like Molly, Maisie, Lily, Poppy, Lola etc.

Would love some opinions please (at least i have plenty of time to work on dh if i need to)

Congratulations.

Mary is the only one of those I like. Jean and Joan a bit grannyish.

Congratulations and fingers crossed for you.

I think Mary and Sally are lovely.

Jean and Joan (we met a little Joni in a play park a while ago - thought it was lovely) I find trickier - but they are definitely growing on me.

Congratulations. Am I right in thinking that your other dc's names are unusual?

Lionstar · 21/08/2010 21:48

DP is a massive fan of Joan/Joanie/Joni and if DS had of been a she I'd have been hard pressed to choose anything else. Not so keen on the others, but Sally is actually pretty cute and I suspect due a comeback.

Congrats, and very sticky thoughts Smile

Mummy - quite unusual i think - depends who you ask! I have never met another of any of them and they are the only ones with their names in all their schools and nurseries. The names are on my long list thread!

Mary.

And best wishes.

Congratulations. I love your choices in names, of the 4 you have listed I like Jean, Joan, Sally and Mary in that order. x

Congratulations!!

Have you thought about hyphenating one of those names? It would work with your DH's fave's which are short and classic. e.g. Mary-Elise; Mary-Helene; Lila-Jean etc

It also gives your little one a choice on whether to use both or one, and you also get to make your choice a little more 'different'. If you search on french name boards, you will get lots of ideas as they love to do this.

Not keen on Jean or Joan, just can't see a baby Joan at all.

Sally is ok, Mary could be quite cute.

None are jumping out.

Fingers crossed for you though!

not keen on Jean or Joan either, but like Joni. Sally is ok, but I really like Mary.
Congratulations and hope all goes well Smile
