What do you think of Cosima?

How would you pronounce Cosima?
I also like Eloise... Any thoughts?

Cosima sounds to me like the name a newspaper astrologist would have. I like Eloise (and Elise/Louisa)

Love it - very glamorous. The two I have known are German - one an actress, one a writer.

I love Cosima. Very elegant and feminine.

Lol at it being shortened to Cossie in the UK.

In Spanish I suppose it would be Cosita which means 'little thing' and is a term of endearment for anyone or thing which is loved.

It's traditionally been quite an aristocratic name in Germany.

Cosima is a bit sloaney, Eloise is lovely IMO

The only Cosima I've heard of is a fictional character in a Barbara Kingsolver novel! She shortened it to 'Codi' which is a bit non-intuitive but better than 'Cossie', I think :)

I actually really like it, though Eloise is nice too, if a bit popular.

DD has two in her class, one is prononuced Coz-eee-ma the other Cos-I-mer. They get cross if you pronounce the wrong one. One is called Mimi for short the other Cozy.
