Isaac , Henry or Roman?

We have found it really hard to decide upon a name for DS2 but we have eventually come to the decision that he will be called either Henry, Roman or Isaac.

His middle name will be Stan / Stanley - surname one syllable beginning with S.

He will be brother to Noah Simon

Which do you prefer

Isaac Stanley or
Roman Stanley or
Henry Stanley

I really like Isaac Stanley :)

KarenHL · 13/08/2010 15:41

I think all three are nice names. Personally I've always chosen from family names before conception (it's taken a while to conceiveWink)! However, I have always had a leaning towards 'Isaac' (even though not a family name) because it means laughter, which I really love the idea of.

wisteria12 · 13/08/2010 16:07

Isaac is a great name. If I was a bit more mainstream I'd use it. Personally Roman is a no for me because we had this awful French student to stay once called Roman and everyone hated him. Henry is a good traditional name and totally unoffensive.

han83 · 13/08/2010 21:12

I love all these names and were on my shortlist, even called my bump Stanley for a while! We called our son Henry and I love it, it really suits him! However, as you are having Stanley as a middle name, I would choose Isaac as a first. Just seems to flow better!

kiwidreamer · 14/08/2010 10:28

I like Henry but it doesnt flow that well with Stanly so I'd go for Issac Stanley too, Roman is okay but I'm not a huge fan (too many flash backs to a Days of Our Lives stage I went thru when on hols from Uni!!!)

MrsJohnDeere · 14/08/2010 10:30

Henry is lovely. Not so keen on the others.

But Henry Stanley sounds awkward.

deepdarkwood · 14/08/2010 10:32

I love Roman, but it doesn't flow with Stanley, so I'd go Isaac - Isaac and Noah is pleasingly Old Testament too Smile

StrictlyTory · 14/08/2010 13:52

Love Roman

Henry Stanley does not sound good as both end in Y which is quite rare for boys names anyway and it just doesn't flow IMO.

DastardlyandSmugly · 14/08/2010 14:08

Roman definitely.

Lora69 · 14/08/2010 14:30

Issac for sure- as it just seems so suited to Stanley.

I love Henry, but really doesnt work with the mn

Roman works, but im not keen on the name

cheekster · 14/08/2010 16:01

Thanks for all your comments

For those of you who pointed out - I do see your point, Henry Stanley doesnt sound great together.

But then I really dont want to rule out a name because it doesnt flow well with the middle name.

So Stanley could possibly be changed for one of the other names e.g. Henry Issac.

TBH - we are just hoping to agree on a first name to begin with - we would like to use Stanley as it is a family name but this isnt essential.

Thanks keep your comments coming

I love the name Henry - really classic.

Chynah · 14/08/2010 18:07

Love Roman (but am biased!)

Lora69 · 14/08/2010 19:24

I still think you should go with Issac Stanley

Haliborange · 14/08/2010 19:30

Roman. It doesn't flow all that well with Stanley, but are you EVER going to actually call him "Roman Stanley"?

AT1137 · 15/08/2010 09:24

Issac is a lovely name, not fond of Zac when it is shortened but love Issac.

janajos · 15/08/2010 09:35

We have a one year old son called Isaac and I absolutely love the name, it goes really well with Noah (another of our choices!!) It is both conventional and groovy iyswim. I say go for Isaac.

proudfoot · 15/08/2010 21:51

Henry is a fab name but doesn't work with Stanley IMO.

Henry Isaac would be lovely. Isaac Stanley also sounds great.

Less keen on Roman.

Clucky31 · 16/08/2010 11:36

I really like Isacc - with Isa as nickname (for which DH says I'm mad due to obvious saving accounts comparison)

rachel234 · 16/08/2010 12:03

Roman definately.

Henry is dull and doesn't flow well with Stanely. Isaac is nice too but I prefer Roman.

pinkvicki74 · 16/08/2010 16:01

I love Isaac - but i would do my littel boy is called that!

Also like Henry... not keen on Roman i'm afraid.

Isaac Stanley is my choice! And Isaac means laughter - wi=hich sums up my lovely son wonderfully!

JebusBuiltMyHotQuads · 17/08/2010 07:24

Love Roman Smile

Not keen on the other two..

Atlasive · 17/08/2010 11:47

I like Henry best from your list, but I think Isaac flows best with Stanley.
