Come tell me your thoughts, please?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Both nice. Celeste particularly so.

Poohbearsmom · 13/08/2010 13:40

I would choose Celeste :)

Pasiphae · 13/08/2010 13:42

Love both.

I am biaised on Celeste and Astrid is a stunning name...

PuraVida · 13/08/2010 13:43

DS was going to be Celeste, if he's been a DD, i love it, but don't make it too popular incase as yet unconcieved no. 2 is a girl!

PomPotty · 13/08/2010 13:44

I prefer Astrid. Celeste is an old woman's name.

Pasiphae · 13/08/2010 13:51

Did you known that Celeste was originaly also a boy's name?
Saint Celeste is a man, it's only around the 18th century that it became used for girls only.

montmartre · 13/08/2010 13:55

rofl- so is Astrid (in Sweden/Denmark!)

The only thing with both these names is that they are quite similar sounds to the children you already have.

What about Beatrix?

catinthehat2 · 13/08/2010 13:58

Astrid, I used to know a mad as a box of frogs v nice one.

PuraVida · 13/08/2010 14:47

i did know about St Celeste, also Celestine is a boys name, particularly used in french speaking african countries i believe. tried that on my DH, it was not to be Sad

breatheslowly · 13/08/2010 14:53

We are chosing between these as a middle name.

He says Astrid. I say we aren't Scandinavian.

I say Celeste. He says Babar's mum.

staceylil22 · 13/08/2010 15:08

Astrid is beautiful we were going to use that for a middle name :)

Celeste. It's lovely. Astrid isn't.

catinthehat2 · 13/08/2010 15:51

Look you're called BorisTheBold not BorisdeGayParis.

You know it's going to have to be Astrid not Celeste really, don't you?

wisteria12 · 13/08/2010 16:04

My DD is Celeste, so I'm biased. I do really like Astrid too, but for some reason it always sounds a bit harsh to me.

Celeste is the best

sedgiebaby · 13/08/2010 17:35

Celeste, even more Celestine (DH is french speaking and this is on our list)

mathanxiety · 13/08/2010 21:39

Astrid all the way. Celeste is always going to be an elephant for me. I don't think you have to have any Scandinavian blood to carry off Astrid (or Ingrid). It's quite an international name.

BrittanyBeers · 13/08/2010 21:45

What PurVida said!
I want a fourth child just to use it up!

Celeste is Babar's wife anyway.

ESL, I am choosing to read that as Jim Morrison would while singing "The End".Grin

BorisTheBold · 15/08/2010 09:14

Ok, thanks for all your thoughts - Celeste is edging it slighty, but I fear I don't have the accent to carry off Celeste! I think it may have to be Astrid...(or Nova).
