Does anyone like this name?

It's nice but a bit frilly for my liking, and quite a mouthful.

KaraTrace · 11/08/2010 19:21

I do, but then I think Mariella Frostrup is pretty great.

lulabellamozerella · 11/08/2010 19:33

I do like it but I think it would depend on how frilly your surname is iyswim

MummikinsOopNorth · 11/08/2010 19:44

My surname is Wordsworth, so I think it goes ok?

We were thinking of Erin as a second name - Mariella Erin Wordsworth.

That sounds really pretty to me, what nn would you use or just keep it to Mariella?

Ineedsomesleep · 11/08/2010 20:19

Yes.

LaundryLyne · 11/08/2010 20:23

It's quite nice, although I prefer Marina or Marianne.

LaundryLyne · 11/08/2010 20:24

Mariella Erin is a bit of a mouthful IMO.

zenon · 11/08/2010 20:44

Mariella Erin Wordsworth is an altogether fantastic, gorgeous, beautiful name. Smile

One of the best names I have heard for a long time on MN.

[But please, please don't have Ella as a nickname]

carciofi · 12/08/2010 08:37

Absolutely lovely name.

ValiumSingleton · 12/08/2010 08:40

I like it. It's a bit frilly for my own exact taste but it is very pretty. I prefer Marianne or Maribel, but I can picture Mariella fitting right in but being the only one if that makes sense.

LHB75 · 12/08/2010 10:17

I really like it and its on my shortlist. I also liked Marietta.

Cortina · 12/08/2010 10:19

Mariella makes me think of the cool collected woman in The Dusty Answer which I am correctly reading (due to people highly recommending here). Set in WW1 times she marries a dashing young man who goes forth into the bloodbath that is WW1.

I like it. Also heard of Ariella today which is a new one on me.

BunnyLebowski · 12/08/2010 10:20

Mariella Wordsworth is very very pretty Smile.

However I think Erin after Mariella sounds a bit clunky. A middle name beginning with a consonant would flow much better.

Pasiphae · 12/08/2010 10:42

Quite like it, but prefer Marielle: simplier and more elegant.

mathanxiety · 12/08/2010 16:57

I prefer Mariel.

thislittlesisterlola · 12/08/2010 17:01

What a fab name. Sounds lovely with Erin and your surname.

bleedingheart · 12/08/2010 17:06

I think this is lovely and goes well with the surname

Kathleen123 · 13/08/2010 11:33

Love it! Mariella goes beautifully with your surname.
