3 middle names? ridiculous?
one i like, one he likes and one family member being honoured,
Sophia Aurelia Phoenix

Mad?

Oh yes, and two surnames!

It's not like she'll have to use all of them is it? it's only on the birth certificate?

Hmm, I think it's going to be too much tbh.

Maria2007loveshersleep · 10/08/2010 12:57

Sorry, you mean another name and THEN Sophia Aurelia Phonenix? Or Sophia as a given name and then Aurelia Phoenix as 2 middle names? TBH in both cases I think it's too much but that's just me. We went the other extreme & didn't give our DS a middle name at all.

My DS has got First name (my Grandad's name) second name (DH's name) and second middle name (my Dad's name) and then two surnames!

We only ever use his first and surnames so who's to know? I say do what you like. And it makes a great name to shout when they are drawing on the walls with crayon.

Too much. DS has two middle names and a long surname, and that seems on the big side.

CreepyFunbags · 10/08/2010 13:01

Four forenames and two surnames is too much.

She will feel annoyed with you every time she has to fill in an official form.

When she gets married and has to say them all out loud everyone will look over at you and your DP and raise their eyebrows.

wisteria12 · 10/08/2010 14:11

I and DH used 3 for our DCs simply because we couldn't whittle them down, and once you've got 3 for DC1 you sort of have to stick to it. Personally, DCs have never had a problem with it and we rarely ever use them all. I'm not saying it's not quite a mouthful, but it's certainly not as big a deal as some people will make out.

NiceCuppaT · 10/08/2010 14:20

Too much especially with two surnames!

Lora69 · 11/08/2010 01:23

Completely and utterly ridiculous and unnecessary!

fatwildwoman · 11/08/2010 02:02

my dcs have both got three names, one we liked, one 'normal' name and a family name - thing is, the third name is never used, so a bit of a waste. especially as i am now having dc3, and wish i hadnt used a nice name in the middle where it is never seen! Also, remember that each subsequent child has to have as many names so as to not feel left out.....
