Still at long (ish) list stage. A few I've mentioned before. Do you know of any? Thoughts:

Bryony

Julia
Leonora

Bryony is the only one I like, maybe better spelled Briony

Easywriter · 11/08/2010 22:04

Bryony - lovely.

My DD's middle name!
Heavy bias being displayed.

pointydog · 11/08/2010 22:08

Julia deff

mathanxiety · 12/08/2010 00:59

Leonora, only.

How about Roland instead of Reginald?

ValiumSingleton · 12/08/2010 08:43

I love Roly. Make sure he's not overweight though.

Cortina · 12/08/2010 10:25

Roland, all I can hear in my head is 'I want to help you, Rooowland' :). Showing my age again :).

You're not the only one. I watched the first ever episode.

Leonara and Julia are lovely.

I love Decca! Unusual, evocative, and (given the record label) comes with its very own font. Plus, Decca Mitford is a lovely inspiration - such spirit and humor.

daisystone · 14/09/2010 08:32

Decca Mitford was actually named Jessica. Decca was just her nickname. So I am not sure about taking someones nickname and using it as a real name.

I knew a Bryony years ago - never liked it. I think it is a prissy name.

I know a few Julia's. Lovely name. Very elegant.

Have not met any Leonora's. Pretty and quite rare.

Reg is awful. I wouldn't call a little boy Reg. It is as bad as Archie or Alfie. Actually it is worse

ValiumSingleton · 14/09/2010 08:35

I like Bryony but I notice (on mn) it's a love or hate name.

Decca, no, sounds like a shortening for something. Declan!!???

Leonora is beautiful and more unusual than Julia. I like Julia. I have known some flouncey Julias but I can see past that.

washngo · 14/09/2010 09:38

I love the name leonora it is so beautiful-and Leonie is a lovely nickname - very georgette heyer!
