Help with boys names please

We are due on 19th August, and have decided against finding out the sex of our little one. We've managed to narrow down a huge list of lovely girls names to 2 (Megan and Carys), but are having trouble with boys names. Please could you help!!! The names we are considering right now are Patrick, Noah, Matthew and Ewan. All go with our surname, and we don't have any Scottish/Irish roots - but don't feel that is too important. What are your thoughts???

I like Noah best... personally not a fan of other 3 names.

like your girls names though!

BelligerentGhoul · 04/08/2010 20:06

I like Noah best and then Matthew. Don't like Ewan. Like Carys a lot.

MrClaypole · 04/08/2010 20:09

I prefer Evan or Ivan to Ewan. LIke Carys a lot!

IWillNotNeverEatATomato · 04/08/2010 20:10

I like your whole list, my favourite is probably Noah too,

Matthew is good but not so keen on Matt as a shortening

I like Patrick and prefer Paddy rather than Pat as a shortening

And I would probably go for Euan rather than Ewan

Noah - I've got a 1.1yo one and i love it, love it, love it!

Ewan - Like

Matthew - Like

Patrick - Like

Patch is a good NN for Patrick.

I like Noah best from your list.

Personally I prefer Evan to Ewan.

Other suggestions.... Aaron, Joel, Ethan, Niall, Levi, Dylan, Miles, Isaac, Elliot, Reuben, Theodore, Daniel, Alexander.

Patrick is my favourite of the boys names (unfortunately DH has ruled it out completely for this bump )

As for the girls, I prefer Carys.

LaundryLyne · 04/08/2010 21:52

I think Megan is very nice

Carys is OK.

emmyloo2 · 04/08/2010 21:54

I like Patrick and Noah but the only problem witn Noah is I feel like it's very "now" whereas Patrick is more classic. Both nice names though.

mathanxiety · 04/08/2010 22:03

Carys and Patrick or Euan.

Baldy10 · 05/08/2010 18:25

Thanks for the ideas - pretty much narrowed it down to Noah or Patrick, and Megan or Carys. Leave the big decision until we meet the little one!

Patrick
Ewan
Matthew

Noah (not a huge fan)

Patrick...like

Noah...love it

Matthew...love it

Ewan...love it

Love all your choices, you can't go wrong with any of those. If I had to vote i would choose Ewan as it is more unusual, would worry about Pat/Paddy being used for Patrick (fine if you like it), matthew is a teeny bit 'dull' and Noah very trendy. I do like them all though.
