I really like all these, but DP comments are:

Felix - miaow?
Christian - too feminine?
Patrick - odd for a little boy?

Christian if you are regular churchgoers. Patrick if you are not.

Not Felix.

minipie · 02/08/2010 18:07

I really like Felix - but somehow, I can only picture a little boy called Felix, not an adult man.

Patrick is ok but I love Paddy as a nn. Especially if you have any Irish heritage.

Christian - I've never liked, to me it's like calling your child "Jewish" or "Muslim". Christopher much better IMO.

Patrick

mathanxiety · 02/08/2010 18:42

Patrick again here.

FellatioNelson · 02/08/2010 21:24

I really wanted to call my DS either Paddy or Seamus, but I bottled out. (I'm not Irish - actually they are two names no self-respecting Irish person would ever pick! To them it's the equivalent of Sharon and Tracey, Wayne and Jason) But I did have Patrick as a middle name.

quaere · 02/08/2010 21:26

Ah a pretty even split but I think Patrick is in the lead. I dunno. I'll ponder it. No rush, not pg yet (just mad)

Felix is much more trendy than the other two and I'm surprised to see it on the same list!

I vote for Patrick too.

CakeandRoses · 04/08/2010 10:22

Love Felix.
Like Christian. Don't think it's at all feminine - not sure why you do.
Find Patrick a bit boring and I really dislike nn Pat

EightiesChick · 04/08/2010 10:35

Felix nice but very popular now and does have cat connection.
Christopher better than Christian, though either way Chris is a nice shortened version.
Patrick I like, though not so keen on Pat.

Colliecross · 04/08/2010 10:35

I don't see Christian as feminine at all, but very obviously religious.
Felix I like but wouldn't use because of all the cats I know....
Patrick sounds nice to Devon ears, I know a very popular successful one nn Patch/Paddy.

Patrick is a lovely name. Lots of nicknames - and remeber he'll only be a little boy for a year or two - he'll be a grown up for 70!

CakeandRoses · 04/08/2010 12:48

eightieschick - do you know lots of young felixes or have you seen it rise on name stats?

latrucha · 04/08/2010 12:51

Patrick

lowrib · 04/08/2010 13:07

I like Felix and Patrick. Not keen on Christian, as it's too - well - Christian. But then I'm an atheist.

I don't see what's wrong with cat connection? Cats are cool! It's not like it's a slug connection is it?

bobbygeorge · 04/08/2010 19:56

Patrick. It's on my list!

EightiesChick · 04/08/2010 19:59

cakendroses Hven't looked at name stats. I know/have met quite a few young ones, and it gets mentioned a lot on here.

seeker · 04/08/2010 21:06

I have a Patrick. Never met another one outside Ireland, and haven't had a single negative word about the name.

MumtoF · 04/08/2010 22:24

I have a Felix - means happy/lucky! Don't forget Felix Lighter - CIA agent in James Bond so not just for kids. Think it will get more popular but that is good for eliminating the whole cat connection which was our only reservation. When we chose it it was higher than 100 in the top names so not particuarly common. If people live up to their name then you will have a happy/cheeky child that will sail through life with ease!

Christian I like but don't like Chris and the 2 Christians I know have been a bit wet/precious.

Patrick I like but don't like Paddy or Pat (the dog!).

katiecubs · 06/08/2010 15:26

Love Felix! If it has cat connotations so what? cats are cool!

pranma · 06/08/2010 16:11

Patrick 1
Felix 2
Christian 3
All 3 are lovely names

diddl · 08/08/2010 10:35

Felix is fantastic-much nicer than the other two imo.
