Is this a good middle name - Elisabeth Soleil? Or Madeleine Soleil?

Beautiful. I like both first names a lot too.

LaundryLyne · 31/07/2010 17:09

Lovely

rubbersoul · 31/07/2010 17:20

It's really lovely!

FranSanDisco · 31/07/2010 17:30

I know a girl called Soleil-Marie. Lovely, I thought. She is from Martinique, though.

Mrsmackie · 31/07/2010 18:39

I wasn't joking at all, just asking for opinions. I know children with Star, Sky, Rainbow (3 of them) and Storm as middle names and wanted something elemental. No, not Tungsten thanks.
Not Lightning either, or Brooke or Raine.

southeastastra · 31/07/2010 21:46

absolutely awful, really no

nevergoogle · 31/07/2010 21:53

well i like it, but i have a boy called Sol.

Other options are Solene. pronounced the french way not soleen, that would be rubbish.

BelligerentGhoul · 31/07/2010 21:55

Beyond awful, imho. Sorry but v v bad. Elizabeth is a lovely name.

rachel234 · 31/07/2010 21:55

If you want to call your dd 'sun' as a middle name, at least do so in the language of the country she lives in - Sun in English, Sonne in German or Soleil in French.

Colliecross · 31/07/2010 22:08

It sounds masculine in English and pretty in French.
Why only English though,Olivia, Chloe, Marie, Sophie, Demi, so many popular names, are not English.

I have an Auntie Sunny, she's in her 70's and I'm afraid is anything but.
Soleil is a French noun not actually a name so it does sound like suncream or someone being a bit pretentious I think.
And it's a bit much as a middle name...aren't they for family names that you really don't like but you don't want to offend anyone?
Having said that it does have a nice ring with your first choices.
So I'm no help...
