I'm really starting to like this name - more than Cecilia and Cecily (which are lovely too). Do you hear of many Celias? What does associations does it have? And what do you think of these middle name ideas?

Celia Clementine
Celia Charlotte
Celia Mary
Celia Lucinda

Celia is a nice name....there was a lovely little girl called Celia in the park when I was PG with DD, and I suggested it to DH. He said a definite NO, as his parents had a horrible friend called Celia apparently.

Celia Clementine is really lovely.

zenoushka · 28/07/2010 14:52

I like Celia and prefer it to Cecilia and Cecily too. I really like Celia Clementine and Celia Mary.

mamsnet · 28/07/2010 14:54

It's enjoying quite a revival here in Spain. I like it.

RnB · 28/07/2010 14:59

Love it. But prefer it spelt Caelia

comtessa · 28/07/2010 15:00

Celia is lovely, very classic but not common. Please spell it Celia to save your DC from having to always spell out her name!

BongoWinslow · 28/07/2010 15:04

It's a lovely name.

I like Celia Charlotte best.

emmyloo2 · 28/07/2010 15:27

Loce Celia. We were also considering Cecile. Celia Charlotte is probably my favourite but they are all nice.

It is a nice change from the Lilys, Olivias and Sophies that are everywhere (although these are all nice names!).

I really like it.

LaundryLyne · 28/07/2010 16:21

Personally I don't really like Celia, sorry. I really like Clementine and Mary though

BunnyLebowski · 28/07/2010 16:25

Love it in Spanish (Theyleea) but not in English.

BunnyLebowski · 28/07/2010 16:25

That's meant to be Theyleea with the emphasis on the lee bit!

shumway · 28/07/2010 16:27

I love Celia - it was on our list for dd3. I like Mary as a middle name from your choices. Connotations - the only two I can think of are Celia, cousin of Rosalind in As You Like It and Celia Johnson (Brief Encounter).

polkadottytotty · 28/07/2010 20:54

I like it.

I like it a lot but I think celia may not celia mary would be my favourite combo.

Eskarina · 28/07/2010 23:00

My MIL is Celia Rosemary which seems to flow well. Celia Mary is similar. I think it's a lovely name.

JimmyTarbuck · 28/07/2010 23:19

Lovely name. My mum is Celia Mary and is the most lovely human on this planet.

wisteria12 · 29/07/2010 00:22

I know a nice little girl called Celia. I do like it but it kind of has Piers Morgan connotations for me ever since he married Celia Walden - that's pretty obscure though, so I wouldn't worry!

GladioliBuckets · 29/07/2010 10:12

Prefer Delia and Cecille for some reason.
All those middle names go great though.
