OK we don't know whether we are having a boy or a girl but we have no names what so ever.

DH quite likes Justin for a boy but I am not overly keen. I like Nick but not Nicholas!

We like zero girl's names and have no ideas at all.

We already have a ds named Joseph Stefan and our last name beings with an M if that helps.

Any ideas???????????

How about Sophie?

Nick's quite a nice name. Lucas?

strandedatsea · 26/07/2010 20:37

Justin isn't my favourite, nor is Nick, sorry.

It sounds like you like fairly retro boys names though so how about a few others - Michael (Mike), Peter (Pete), Simon etc?

You need to give some idea on girls names - everyone could wade in with their favourite names and you could be overwhelmed. Perhaps look at some of the other baby name threads, chose some of your favourites and post these?

strandedatsea · 26/07/2010 20:38

Or how about Piers, as you already have a slightly French slant with Stefan (which I really like btw)

elainesdaughter · 26/07/2010 20:41

Thanks both of you. I like Lucas!

Sophiw is a bit frill sounding to me, sorry!

Yes I realise I have been a bit vague but it's because we really have no idea with

girl's names at all.

I like simple, maybe classic names. Perhaps Kate but it doesn't sound good with our surname at all.

Quite like the name Beth I think but again it sort of doesn't fit well with our

last name!

Oh it's so hard! With ds, we knew as soon as we found out his sex what we

would call him so we never had to think of any girl's names.

We haven't found out this time and it's a lot harder!

For girls, how about:

Ruth
Beth
Anne or Anna
Clare or Clara or Cara
Mary or Maria
Emma
Frances
Maud
Amy
Grace
Honor
Faith
Fay or Faye

... run out of inspiration but I bet there are loads.

For boys, just a few that sprang to mind (sounds like you like slightly Eastern/North European names)

Nico ?
Jonas or Jonah
Jude
Anton

Love Anna!

I like Anna too.

Imogen? Fleur going with the French theme and boys I would offer Rufus, Noah and Jethro (yes I know they are a bit random but wish I had thought of them for my 3ds.

French boys name I can only offer Etienne or Guillaume and both of those are rather dodgy if you want an honest opinion. French boys names don't do much for me I'm afraid, just remind me of french lessons where some boy called Xavier seemed to crop up in all the books.

elainesdaughter · 26/07/2010 21:17

Well I haven't intentionally given ds1 a french/ european middle name,

was just the name Stefan that we both liked and it was also the name of dh's uncle who

died a few yrs before I got pregnant so it seemed to fit. We haven't got any

preferences on the age or origin of a name really.

I hear modern names that I like aswell as traditional but we just haven't found

anything that we love yet.

Had a think, for a boy we quite like:

Eddie/ Edward.
Freddy
Thomas
Darren (though I feel it may be unpopular nowdays but I do like the sound and feel of it).
Henry
Finlay (but dh is not allowing it as a first name but possible middle name).

girl we like:

Rachael
Katherine
Amy
Anna
Holly (although won't be a Christmas baby, will be August does this matter?)

Any more suggestions?

I know a Holly born in August. Don't think it matters at all.

Pasiphae · 27/07/2010 11:43

How about:
Noah, Oscar, Tobias, Christopher, Elliot, Victor, Lucien, Emil, Gregory.

Florence, Beatrice, Juliet, Astrid, Audrey, Nancy, Sally, Laurel, Tanith.

LJS666 · 27/07/2010 12:00

How about Max? It's cool, easy to spell, and not too popular.

David's nice too.

discombobulation · 27/07/2010 19:56

Dominic?

elainesdaughter · 27/07/2010 22:16

Doominic is lovely thanks! Liking David too, possible middle name.
